Controller Support - Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered
Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered has built-in support for a range of controllers, listed below. When using a supported controller, the game displays in-game icons for each type and fully supports rumble features. We recommend using one of these controllers for the best experience.

Steam Input

Marvel's Spider-Mand Remastered also supports Steam Input, that allows you to use any controller and enables controller reconfiguration. You can configure your controller in the General Controller Settings, found in the Controller section of the Steam Settings menu.

Troubleshooting
If you are experiencing issues:

  • Try disconnecting any other controllers that might be connected to your system.

  • Try disabling Steam Input: right click the game in Steam, select Properties, choose Controller and select Disable Steam Input.

Using a One controller, and have to press buttons HARD to make them work ! When i presse them gently nothing happens. The controller works with other games, so this one is the problem, fix it thanks

"MA Camera Movement Joystick":
Default setting but inherently imprecise as it's emulating a joystick. Feels weirder than usual, especially with diagonal swipes. It seems like movement on both axes are applied sequentially, first some vertical then some horizontal, and so on. Results in very jittery motion. Making a circle on the trackpad highlights the problem quite nicely.

"Camera Movement"
Proper mouse-like precision, so I thought that's the way to go. Then noticed that it's not working all the time. When trying to look around investigating items (e.g. on a table), the black-cat camera observations or even during combat, the camera just doesn't work at all. Can work around the combat problem by disabling the combat camera setting in the controller options, but actually I like it :P Just would also like to be able to adjust it every now and then.
Also seems like it's not automatically activated after cut-scenes / missions. Need to move around or jump first to make it work again.
And finally, on a side note, it seems like it's not affected by any in-game sensitivity settings, for neither mouse nor controller. Luckily the setting in steam works, so not critical but still an oddity.

Currently I defaulted to "Camera Movement" and swap back to "MA Camera Movement Joystick" whenever camera breaks. Not really a super smooth way of experiencing the game overall, but at least camera is smooth most of the time :D
Hope this will be fixed, even if Steam Controller is not listed as supported. Wouldn't be surprised if Steam Deck had the same issues, but why would anyone notice if you have a second joystick for camera, right? :P

I experienced this same issue on steam controller, and it is also a problem on my steam deck if I try to use the "Camera Control" mode for mouse-like input on the trackpad. I submitted a ticket to insomniac, so hopefully they are aware of it. It seems like it's an issue because the "camera control" mode is used for the gyro control by default, and they want the gyro to be disabled for certain things like melee combat. There are better ways of doing that using steam input obviously, but that isn't how it is implemented atm.

... why? Are we not allowed to have nice things? Or is it somehow an unfair advantage? This seems silly because a mouse and keyboard bring even better performance in terms of camera controls than motion controls ever could, and the mouse is never disabled for this purpose. I disagree with the design intent if true, if you have a source I'd like to read it.

OMG…thought it was just me. I owned this game on every platform available and I’ve never had that problem until now.
Please add Xbox One Impulse Triggers support.
I Have a fairly high end specPC but get low FPS (around 30fps) but only when I Use a controller (XBOX One or PS5 controller, wireless or wired). If I start the game without a controller connected and only use keyboard and mouse I get double (around 60 FPS all Maxed with RT on).

Anyone else have to restart the game when using a controller and having it shut off? I left the game running while doing other things, and when I got back the controller timed out, and the game wouldn't register any inputs through it unless I restart.
Have you found a fix for this? Seems like I can only play for about an hour or so and the more I set my controller down and go afk, the more likely this happens. I can still push the xbox button to bring up my overlay, but can't do anything as far as play the game.
Had a controller issue where my PS4 controllers would stop functioning through wired connection. Switched to bluetooth and they worked fine until last update. Now I get random analog inputs not registering on all 3 of my PS4 controllers. Doesn't happen with my Xbox, Switch, or third party controllers.
Bug report when input stops working:

When you go from photo mode when the camera can't move to game mode, you lose the ability to change direction. It is solved by entering photo mode and exiting.
Twice today after cutscenes (Taskmaster's first appearance and after saving MJ from the Central Park Silver Sable compound), my analog sticks and LT/RT buttons stopped working. Reloading wouldn't fix, had to actually restart the entire program/app.

Using XB1 controller. Has been 100% fine until today. Even after the 8/25 patch, it was fine, just until today.
I disabled Steam Input and I'm still stuck in the construction mission, because neither the RB button, or the joysticks respond. it started to fail since the last patch

I'm still stuck in the construction mission I can't move from spawn.
Controller not allowing to use the left stick to move during Mile's Section.

Everything was working fine when he saved his mom, but once he got past the pole and onto the Devil's lair. I can't move him even when using both Xbox One and DS4.

I can however, use the keyboard keys to move. So this is clearly something wrong with this section and possibly future stealth sections later down the road.

Please fix this.
