Controller Support - Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered
Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered has built-in support for a range of controllers, listed below. When using a supported controller, the game displays in-game icons for each type and fully supports rumble features. We recommend using one of these controllers for the best experience.

Supported Controllers

  • DualSense (PlayStation 5)*
  • DualShock 4 (PlayStation 4)
  • Xbox One
  • Xbox 360
  • XInput compatible controllers
  • Steam Deck

*Use wired USB connection to experience full set of DualSense controller features

Steam Input

Marvel's Spider-Mand Remastered also supports Steam Input, that allows you to use any controller and enables controller reconfiguration. You can configure your controller in the General Controller Settings, found in the Controller section of the Steam Settings menu.

Troubleshooting
If you are experiencing issues:

  • Try disconnecting any other controllers that might be connected to your system.

  • Try disabling Steam Input: right click the game in Steam, select Properties, choose Controller and select Disable Steam Input.

Yeah I am having the same issue, anyone got a fix???

The only fix I've found is to temporarily use mouse/kb for those parts and then switch back to controller when you're done.
Yeah I use mouse in those parts because it's seriously annoying

Anyway, are there plans to add button prompt support for:

1. Steam Controller
2. Nintendo Switch Controllers
3. SIAPI's Build-in Button Icons

1. Steam Controller.

Currently: if you're playing with the Steam Controller: they will be using Steam Deck's icons (even if you assign the Left or Right Back Buttons, it'd show Deck's L4 or R4 button icons), but assigning certain buttons (like the Touchpad Click) will show ❔ icon.

Given Steam Controller's button naming scheme is Xbox but with a Touchpad, I think it'd be an easy fix aside of either making new icons or reusing existing ones.

2. Nintendo Switch controllers

If a Switch controller is connected, they will be using the Xbox button icons...which wouldn't be much of a problem if it wasn't for the Face Button positioning and different naming scheme, and with the way how Steam Input API (the API, not the Configurator) is handled: it can get confusing.

In wake of the upcoming Nintendo Switch Joycon support coming to Steam Input (you can check it out right now on Steam Client Beta), it would be ideal to ensure Switch Controller folks can get a decent out-of-the-box experience that doesn't require them to workaround it.

3. SIAPI built-in Button Icons

Certain SIAPI-supported games may decide to use the provided Button Prompts instead of their own, or include both SIAPI button icons and the in-game one (the former is used as a fallback in case a Input isn't recognized by the game).

Spider-Man Remastered opted to use the In-Game one instead; but as shown in Moskeeto's video: they don't take other controllers into account. This is something Valve STRONGLY recommends.

As for Adaptive Trigger support via Steam Input API? Valve recently added support for it via a recent Streamworks SDK update, but obviously: it didn't made the cut for this game (at launch), but I wouldn't be surprised if it'd be added later down in the road...or for Spider-Man: Miles Morales' PC Port.

Hi all
Sorry for my english.

I noticed my game lag crazy and I had no sound.

After some tests I noticed that playing with the keyboard, I had no perf problem.

I retested with the Dualsense by deactivating the haptic feedback.

Everything is back to normal.

everything else is great i run the game on ultra, rtx and all, but it's weird not being able to play with dualsense, i don't have any problem on other games though.

So how can i enjoy the game with haptic feedback?
please add 8BITDO pro2 controller support as an update please.

When I use the xbox 360 controller, the character moves only in straight directions (forward/backwards or left/right), even the camera does that (up/down or left/right) so the movement feels very limited... is this normal?

I also have this problem with my Xbox 360 Controller. Movements are limited to the main 4 directions, if I switch mode to D-Pad for movement, I can't move diagonally at all. This has happened in other games before also before a fix, I believe it is due to how the Xbox controller is mapped to match the keyboards arrow keys and doesn't recognize full range of movement.

I am constantly drifting down my spider-man moves on his own.
I've had some issues with other titles and my 360 controller while the Steam controller settings were active. Try disabling those, helped with my DS5 controller.
They can sometimes interfere when the game already has native controller suppoert.

R2 on the PlayStation 4 controller isn't working for me
Hey idk if this will help but what I did to solve it for me was

Steam controller config - in game controls - R2 trigger - enable swing/sprint for pull trigger and soft pull (I don't remember the names correctly) after that just resume your game and it should work :steamhappy::steamthis:

Does anyone have this weird issue? Sometimes when doing missions indoors, I'm unable to activate my suit power or do takedowns. I tried switching my Xbox controller to a PS4 one but I still got the same result. This issue doesn't happen out in the city.

you dont need every controller. 8bitdo controllers have xinput. stop sounding like a baby

never happened. I've never had this in any game. This is the first game in which such a problem for all the time that I play.
PS5 controller connected to Windows computer via USB 3.0. Anyone else finding finishers (X + O by default) requiring both buttons to be pressed simultaneously with almost frame-perfect timing? Such as, you press both buttons with your thumb but because one side of your thumb went down 3ms before the other the finisher doesn't register.
