God I really hope this game is well-optimized.
Sony's ports to PC have been a bit spotty.

Horizon Zero Dawn was pretty stuttery at launch but to Sony's credit they fixed it later on.

God of War is fine until you get to the Lake of Nine......then the game stutters like crazy. And Days Gone still stutters at parts.

Now, if you are one of the few people whose computers run God of War and Days Gone perfectly, you are lucky and I envy you lol. But for a lot of people these two games still don't run exactly smoothly (look at their Steam discussion forums and you will see what I mean).

Crossing my fingers that Spider-Man is stutter-free! I don't even mind if the FPS goes down in parts; just as long as it doesn't stutter then I'm good!

UPDATE: I'm so happy that this game is well-optimized! The FPS will drop a lil bit when swinging around the city but it never ever stutters so I'm happy!

neither gow or days gone "stutter like crazy", more like barely and only at a few sporadic points

Like I said, if it doesn't stutter for you, then great. But for a lot of people those two games do.

Spider-Man 2 was a great game.

Yeah. God of War stutters here and then. usally when you enter a new area. And the game has to load in the background. But its nothing that major IHMO. The Gameplay itself is totally fine.

Days Gone has that typical Unreal Engine 4 Stutter. HZD is now totally fine after a handful patches. It was a mess though when it first launched. Thats true.

SpiderMan will be fine, it uses DX12 which is better for CPU Load and Nixxes is a very good PC Studio which major expernicen. Rise and Shadow of the Tomb Raider are excellent ports.

there's the occasional stutter, but the issue is that people exaggerate and pretend it's so bad that it's unplayable

bunch of bs

Something Something personal experience is not valuable. For every smooth operation, someone has had a bad experience and vice versa. When it comes to PC hardware, there's a practical possibility even the order you installed certainly programs can cause hang ups in some strange cases.

Clearly I cannot tell the future, but if there are issues, just remember that the people on the support desk are humans, too, and that just because another game of similar specs ran fine, doesn't mean every game will.

Figures crossed, be patient, and hopefully if there is a problem, it gets slaughtered with extreme prejudice.

What? I know these boards too well. XD

Pretend? Like, you visited their home just to see if they're telling the truth about a video game?

Come on now.

it has DLSS AND DLAA performance will be increased with this on by a lot.

Not to mention they went out of their way to include every possible PC setting PC players want like ultrawide 32:9. So with that I would think they wanted to deliver an amazing experience and understand what PC players want, a Crisp image with high fps.

HZD for sure was really bad at launch. Never heard anyone complain about GOW and Days gone though.
Most I've seen is from people who spend more time looking at their RTSS overlay than the actual game and the millisecond their FPS shows 59 they scream and throw a paddy about how unoptomised the game is for their GTX 760 and Intel Pentium equipped "GAMING" laptop.

I've been gaming for a long time on PC....and have seen these claims of "stuttering" throughout the ages. Maybe it's just cause I've never had junk PCs...but I pretty much never can relate to these claims.

Yeah, God of War is optimised like trash. 1K+ games and that's the only one I've had to lower the render resolution for. What a joke.

I'm interested to know what your specs are and the res/refresh rate you were running at

Sounds more like the problem is your computer though. Sure, Horizon needed some patching, but God of War?? PC games can't be more optimised than that. The port is absolutely flawless. If you had performance issues, it's on your end. It's absolutely god tier PC port.
