If however you've got a more general mid-modestly high spec rig and you want the best performance possible/highest graphics settings and fps you can achieve, definitely put it on SSD. I will be for sure.
I have
Ryzen 5 3600
Gtx 1660 super
16 gb ram 3200
This should be enough to run on medium-high settings, but I'm afraid that because I will not have enough space on the ssd drive, everything will run worse
if I were you I'd put it on SSD. If the drive is getting full then just clear out some stuff and move it over to another drive.
As long as your SSD has more free space than you have RAM (so over 16gb free) then you should be fine - if that SSD has your OS on it then make sure to keep a fair bit free in general. To be honest though, I've filled my SSD containing my OS to less than 20gb free and not suffered any performance or running issues, so you should be fine.
No worries :) Your specs are very similar to mine so I'm making the same judgements on getting max performance, hope you enjoy the game.
This game was designed for PS4, to be ran from regular slow hard drive. Assets are loaded ahead of time into memory and playing on SSD or HDD has zero difference in performance of this kind. The only difference SSD makes in this game is loading times, which on PS5 SSD was made basically instant, while on PS4 would take around 30 seconds or so.
The only game in history that had it's design based around SSD speed for gameplay purposes is Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart. In any other game, SSD simply reduces loading time and nothing else.
although you will want them with a Cache. For M.2's, Samsung 970 evo plus (512gb or 1tb) never goes wrong, and for a SATA (consider upgrading to a M.2 anyways), I'd recommend a Crucial MX500 for 85 USD
Promise M.2's are the future
It's not 2010 anymore...
