TOC file missing

So yesterday I decided to try my hand at modding Spiderman, but ran into the problem of the screwy launcher, (the one where it says launcher_play etc.) one of the only fixes I saw online was to remove the toc.bak file, tried that, and it didn't fix the problem. So I tried reinstalling the game. Once I did, I ran the game once, stopped a few crimes, just to make sure everything was working just fine, and ran into no issues. (Although the launcher is now missing the playstation pc option but I think that might be from the new oct. 6 update) But now when I tried to set up the modding tool (I also fresh installed this as well) it kept giving me an error saying my TOC file was missing. I checked my asset_archive folder and right at the bottom were the TOC and TOC.BAK files. A fix I saw for this online was to "Make sure the file is just named TOC and not TOC. (Insert file extention here)" but I have both the TOC and TOC.BAK files. Idk what to do in this situation and any help would be highly appreciated, thanks!

delete toc.bak like every modding instruction says in every single mod from nexus mods. if you dont follow instructions you will never succeed in life bro.

I had already tried deleting the toc.bak file beforehand. And at the time it didn't work. I solved everything now just ended up using the vortex support extension. Thanks for the feedback though

I tried using vortex but I still ran into the problem of the game not wanting to launch. Also, some mods in vortex will show a triangle with an exclamation mark, are the mods themselves, messing up the game? Also, the mods with the weird hazard sign were the movie-accurate rami and E3 advanced suit.

What worked for me was deleting both the toc and toc.BAK files, then verifying your game's file integrity in Steam. As for the mods showing errors, just install them with Vortex, not manually. Worked for me, might just work for you.
