Game keeps freezing?

I just bought the game a few days ago and started playing it. The game freezes all the time and i have to restart the game. I have plenty of AAA game and none of them do that. I keep my PC optimised and I make sure its always updated and I hit over 100 FPS with max ultra settings so i know its not my PC! Its just getting annoying and I wonder how many people are facing this issue? Anyway you found to fix the issue? Or do I just sit and wait for them to to patch and fix the issue?

Mine keeps freezing as well and now the game wont start. ive validated files and everything. might try re-installing?

No, haven't tried re installing. Did you re Install? Are you getting any other support?

I have a similar if less annoying freeze problem... I'm flying along webslinging from building to building and all of a sudden the game will freeze for like 5 seconds... then continue as if nothing has happened. It happens about once a minute. VERY immersion breaking as it breaks the flow the game and you never know when it's going to happen.

Do the issues still persist after the updated we released last week?

Do you have the game installed on a hard disk drive? If so, try lowering the settings to see if that helps. We recommend an SSD for higher settings.

I also have the freezing issue where it stalls for several seconds and resumes play. This also happens during cinematic sequences. During the first scene with DocOc I didn't see any of the scene but could hear the audio. I don't have my Steam library on an SSD at this time. But I do have the graphics turned all the way down and it continues to happen.

Had to click 5 times to post cause steam garbage front end is so laggy on the west coast USA today - i think people who work at steam must be high all day long for how little actually gets done or improved for this site lol

This game crashes constantly and the only method I found was to restart it periodically to avoid the crash - i tried lots of isolation like dlss on/off RT on/off etc and could not get it to stop. I think there is just a memory leak the developer is blatantly refusing to acknowledge with high end GPUs/settings. Also I was playing in 4k on a 3090.

Having the same issues on a 4090. Constant crashes for no reason. Can't get past the first 10 minutes of the tutorial without the game crashing.

If that's the case I'll be putting a request in for my refund before my 2 hours is up.

I've played many games over the years and never had so many crashes as this game in such a short amount of time.

If you aren't willing to wait for them to fix it, or you don't think they will. Definitely refund.

Spend your money on a game that isn't a disappointing buggy ass mess.

I have these problems even with all updates. I have a fantastic pc and am wondering if the freezes will be fixed. Also RT preformence could be worked on but is decent. Will these problems be addressed in future updates?

Had some freezing too. My rig is I5-11400 16gbr ram, using a new NVME SSD and a RTX 3060ti.
Game was running smooth till the cutscene to save the helicopter on the middle of the street, and then on Miles Morales saving his mother.

Had everything turned very high. Now i'm trying to play with high settings (RTX) and some other custom stuff, like HBAO+ instead of SSAO.

I'm using an XBOX controller using a receiver, so when the game freezes, i can't ctrl+alt+del or quit the game. Hard reset.

Just started the game here, less than 2 hours in. Also experiencing multiple screen freezes. Leaves me no option but to close the game from the taskbar. I'm running an RTX 3080, 32 GB Ram. Get a little stuttering here and there, but tolerable. FPS is fine. But the multiple screen freezes are happening each time I play. Sad to see by this thread this has been going on awhile. Gonna see about a refund. This baloney for a AAA game.

I set my Texture resolution to LOW (I have no SSD) and finally it stopped loading sections of the city AFTER I passed into them. Sometimes, I'd clip through a building if the textures weren't loaded yet. So, bummer, but all other graphics settings can remain cranked up. :/
