Though I'd rather have a proper Gundam game with large scale battles between mobile suits, ships, etc like the Battles of Loum and Solomon...
If you prefer PVP that's fine, but people have been having fun fighting bots since forever, and they still do. Besides, it's a good way to practice before getting into PVE, and should servers ever go down, there's a way to keep enjoying the game for years after.
Zeonic Front for the PS2 was the best. No space battles, but it felt like a gundam game should. Not a bad game either if you can get it working on an emulator. I can't get it to run 100%.
If you wanted a game that made you feel like you were in the thick of the BIG battles in Gundam, Climax U.C. is pretty much where that happened. The set dressing in that game is still pretty much unparalleled in any other mech game I've seen.
