The learning curve is very low, but it depends on your age.

My 4 year old played fine with me sitting behind him, but on his own, he couldn't do it. It's too much reading and strategy for him. Sometimes, he'd pull the highest card when he could've pulled a card 1 above the opponent's value.

Poker really doesn't play a part in this game unless you count "get 3 of the same number" as "Poker" :p. I think of this more like Magic the Gathering without the gambling aspect.

And there are lots of complex strategies in the game required to beat later levels. I'm not even talking about the first part. There's a lot more content in the game once you've beat all the levels once. That's where the real strategy comes in and the difficulty increases.

But since you're learning with the game as you play, you should start being able to figure it out. Even after 40 hours of play, I still find new strategies.

I haven't heard of a Switch version, but if one comes out, maybe that UI will be touch-friendly because it really requires a mouse right now. Even on my Surface, I can mostly get by playing with touch, but there are some things that specifically need pin-point accuracy or a mouse-wheel to use effectively.

This also means it's tough on my Steam Deck. The biggest issue is the text. Unlike 3D games where running them at 320x240 looks mostly fine, this game has very small high-res text. It's not easy to play on a handheld screen.

The game is also very heavy on your GPU. Even on my RTX 3090, it's hard to run it with everything maxed out at a stable 120fps. I end up having to use the built-in FSR to get it working. I bought an eGPU enclosure just to play it with higher graphics on my Surface Pro 8 tablet.
