I hear it pulls a Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster and removes all extra content
Huh..interesting. Still, this may only stay up for this year and get pulled next year possibly. I am basing this on how sega acted in the past.
Just because the game is a little different still does not guarantee it won't get delisted. For example, original sonic 1, 2, and 3 are different from Sonic Origin version. One example is they added the hidden palace level in the Sonic Origin, and the ability to play with different characters in almost all levels now. These features were not in the original sonic games. So that makes them different. Being different is no guarantee this will eventually be delisted off steam. Sega also has a bad habit of delisting "older" versions of game, even with slight differences in them, or one version has something added. Since this version came out first, it is considered the older version. As others have pointed out, this one came out first.
Another example is that Sonic Generations and The newer version are slightly different. Many people already on the Sonic Generations forum are arguing why they did not just put this as dlc on the original sonic generation game. I can tell you why. It has to do with greed and how dlc does not sell as much as full games. This is one reason why Sega does this. To sell games you have to buy over again just to get some new content.
If you can show me evidence they do not delist older games in the past, then sure, i will agree they won't delist, but please provide me evidence to that effect as i have provided my side of evidence about sonic 1,2, and 3 and sonic origns, and also sonic generations.
As mentioned on the other thread, they did not delist Persona 5 when Persona 5 Royale came out on Playstation 5. They even tried to sell Ps4 and Ps5 versions of Royale separately to PS5 owners. Didn't even give a free upgrade and continue to sell them separately.
Persona games probably make for a better example than Sonic in my opinion. Add to that the fact both the P3P and P3G ports are relatively new releases and I think they'll stick around for the time being.
Sorry,, i did not know about the ps4 and ps5 as i do not own those systems. That is fair enough evidence. Ok, i can see they will stick around possibly awhile.
I don't care what they delist on consoles because its a closed platform and all their stores will eventually close anyway.
