Just because you fat fingered up on the d-pad and hit left or right doesn’t make it a bad system… someone might wanna switch on the fly… and not go thru the menu.
And FYI I’ve switched them by mistake too, so…but that was on me for not being careful.
If that system is not optimised for classic gamepads then it is bad. Someone literally wanted to use d-pad more and added 2 useless types of arrows.
No need to switch between arrows if only 1 type is good and its existence makes sense.
Piercing arrow can do everything that other arrow can't
BTW almost every boss can teleport, it makes homing and explosive arrows useless, as they can't deal their own 100% of damage
I’ll be 49 this year… I’ve been playing games for over 40 years, owning just about everything major game console from the Atari 2600 to current generation… PS5, Xbox Series S and the Switch…. I remember the d-pad on the 360 being ♥♥♥♥…. But still
I've completed the game already and its a very good product but this tiny arrow thing is like a drop of tar in a massive barrel of honey
I was just about to ask that. I didn't change any of the key binds but I recall a few not liking the shoulder buttons being parry. I figure you can just change which button swaps arrows.
As for the usefulness of the other arrows, they're not supposed to be just for bosses. If anything, the thunder burst arrow is meant for crowds of enemies most of all, certainly not a huge boss tool. Shadow Hunter I've seen used for various things, to include taking down Eigong. Sure, she teleports around, but if you're trying to get damage on her without stunning her to break her combos, it does quite a bit of damage AND you don't have to aim it directly at her.
They're all tools meant to be used for different strategies. If you don't like them, it's probably because you haven't bothered trying different strategies or builds for them.
Thunder Burst does more damage than Cloud Piercer, but is generally not too useful except for DPS on certain bosses who let you hit the whole thing, when you don't have Shadow Hunter yet (e.g. Sky-Rending Claw).
Cloud Piercer has the most useful AoE and properties for general mobbing and stuns, but if you don't need the stun, it's a fair bit less damage to bosses. I'll see a lot of people just fire off a bunch of these in a row against a boss, and you might as well just use Shadow Hunter if you're going to do that.
Also, I'm pianist, son, pressing buttons was my job even before you were born.
