Where do i go after ji

please tell me the exact location of where i need to go after killing ji i have been ripping my hair out trying to find out where to go why wont the game tell me man

You can do Ji and the Empyrean District in either order. If you haven't done Empyrean District, one of the entrances is to the left of the entrance to Ji's fight, and another is lower down in the same room. (The upper one just gives you access to some additional items, then meets up lower down with the other path.) If you have cleared both areas, you should receive a notification from Ruyi to go back to the Four Seasons Pavilion and talk to him.

Note that you must actually pick up the key items left behind by both Ji and the Empyrean District boss (on Ji's corpse and in a chest near the Soulscape/Sol Seal behind the Empyrean District boss) to be able to progress the game.
