You must stand up and say "my name is Acez and I'm an Arcaholic".
But then again... Since coming back to Speranza I have had hard time to adjust to the reality. Everyone is growing shiny mushrooms, playing with rubber ducks, or training their rooster with scraps. It seems that the big news about us Raiders coming back to the surface and returning with goods has already faded away. Only when passing some of you in a hall, and a quick nod - that is all that's left after our last adventure.
Life went on. Everything around us seems pretty much the same, but we, Raiders are not the same. We are reliving every encounter, every loss and every tough victory. Our new scars are a reminder, that this moment that we are experiencing is not a peace. It's just a short break in our constant war with mad machines, and... with our dark nature as humans. On the surface there are no man-made cameras, and all crime is forgiven for the sake of materials. For a bigger purpose, they say.
There are different rules on the surface, and to be precise there is only one rule: survive and bring as much scrap as possible. But thinking back, I don't really remember the biggest loots, or the most valuable items. What stuck in my head were the interactions between other Raiders, and how some greed can quickly turn a friend into a foe.
I still hear the hum of ARC... I know they are scanning undergrounds and waiting for us. What they don't know is we are waiting for them. This time more hungry than ever.
Unfortunately, as an Arcaholic your only option is abstinence.
I refuse to accept that.
