ARC Raiders

ARC Raiders

why are we fighting each other?
i haven’t played the game, but after watching Doc stream it i think game would be cooler as PvE only experience, wasn't it supposed to be PvE in the first place? the robots (or whatever they are called) already feel more threatening than other players, isn’t the whole point that humanity is on the brink and trying to fight back against these machines? makes no sense for players to be fighting each other when we've all the same enemy, game should be about unity, team survival, not betrayal, they should go all in on PvE, make the AI smarter, harder, and more of them on the map, no solo mode either, just squad, and if u find another squad that got wiped, u can loot their sht but with a choice, do u keep it, or send it back to them? if u send bak, u get clout an credits, kinda like Death Stranding where u help ppl out with their dropped cargo, that kind of mechanic would build more chill community, instead of just everyone out here trying to kill each other fr.

The game *should* be about this or that? Why? It's not that though, so...? What you're asking for is a completely different game. It's like going to the Doom: The Dark Ages forums and asking "Why isn't this more like Minecraft?".

Sorry if this comes across as rude but honestly, I don't get it. There's a bunch of cooperative games on Steam, titles like Forever Winter for example. That's pretty similar to what you want. Why not play that instead?

Dont bring up forever winter, which is a pve only extraction game, because it died super fast which goes against the PVE only crowd that says this game will die because its pvp. You make a good point but using reason and logic is useless vs the pve only crowd. They just want to complain.

Tbh the PVE only crybabies do this on every single PvPvE game. Its best to just ignore them, they have no intention of getting better at a game vs other people and they are the first people to claim anybody better than them is cheating. They complain about this on every game that doesnt have a carebear mode especially in games where the whole game and its PVE is surrounding the threat of PVP. I mean in Arc raiders you get downed in the tutorial. PVP is clearly part of the experience and no reasonable conversation will be had with these people. It will just result in complaining and eventual flaming. They will do this until there is or isnt a pve mode added then still find something to complain about. Funny thing is they will still play this game regardless because it really is a great game.

This is probably the most anticipated release for the extraction genre.
Rare chat about a game consumes twitch chat to the chatter about.
They want the game now. It's more polished than the others on the market.
It was interesting how it began, explained the whole 3P only route.
For re-play ability pvp can longevity to a game that is otherwise 'conquered'
For the love of fighting something with an unpredictable and real brain for a change.
There's no fighting, there's just 75 IQ PvE only players (who can't type a coherent sentence) complaining about a game they're not even going to play
Go play Helldivers 2
I had no idea that there were so many PvE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ out there? Who the Hell wants to play a PvE shooter.. that sounds lame as Hell.

Because it's fun. Hope this helps.

Why they decided to go PvPvE over PvE ?

It is quite simple.
They found the PvE version lacking so they started prototyping internally and this is what they had the most fun with in-house.

You have to realize that they have a dedicated PvP background and a rather small developer team of around 60 developers.

Fun is the best compass making games
Or on a broader scale - you create better things if you are passionate about them.

Profit-wise going PvE only probably would have been the much safer route for them.
Extraction games are a very difficult terrain.

Sorry it is not your kind of fun.
Personally - I would not have played this without PvP.

That said I saw people running around as medics or treating it as a stealth looter so maybe you still find your niche. If you want to extract there are many tools and tactics to help you.

Maybe "we're fighting each other" because you PvE players just can't take the hint and let it go. Try to exert some emotional intelligence.

He might just have snapped because there are dozens of threads like this.

i get it, but still PvP doesn’t make sense here when the whole point is humanity vs machines.

So lore reasons ?
They definitely have to flesh it out - but if I look at our little dustball and how people behave at some places and people being unregulated on the surface in an apocalypse - knocking people out and robbing them doesn't seem so unrealistic to me.

Everyone of us can still try to approach it differently. There is proximity chat.
I even saw people playing as medics.

I completely agree. The game would've been much better without PVP.

You don't *have* to fight other players. You can talk to them and team up. Work together. That's absolutely a thing in the game. It's not easy though, and they're likely to shoot you in the back for your stuff.

And if you don't think that's realistic, look what happens in any actual warzone where resources are scarce. People don't tend to sit around singing kumbaya.
