Look at EXO-Primal, sold as a co-op PvE experience with mild PVP, has forced PvP at every match end. Why did it die? Forced PVP and monetization that made no sense. They added the PVE only mode too late after players had already moved on.
The game is what it is, a PvPvE extraction shooter. If you don't like it, you don't like it. Just play a different game that you like. Everything isn't for everyone.
I mean, that could help mitigate the no life vs casual players since there is to ranking/player balance, Grey zone warfare is doing it and there is no problem with it, the PVE need to have more difficult AI of course. But the game don't need it, it would benefit from one.
When the game was PvE only the devs found it lacking, started
prototyping and eventually had the most fun with the PvPvE version we see now.
Fun is the best compass imho.
I also see the issue of splitting the playerbase.
If they implement it I want gear you earn in pure PvE to be unusable in PvPvE.
well said.
greyzone sucks, and is a failure check the player number
The idea would be to dissiminate pieces of lore and "secret quests" in the maps so if you are lucky enough to find one you can learn something new about the world and unlock different "extract missions".
Right now I think this would be the way whereas creating a PvE mode would probably hinder the community as a whole. Nevertheless this impressions I got come from a play test with a little number of active players and that's why I think it may be too soon to jump into conclusions.
I personally don´t like the changes the game made since its announcement, but we will see. I would applaud the integration of a pve mode.
Greyzone is an early access game that is brutal on most people's systems, was sold not even 30% complete, is in early access until late 2028 and is getting updated every 6 months. So yeah, the player numbers will be rough because people buy things expecting them to be finished off the get go.
