ARC Raiders

ARC Raiders

I just completed the extensive survey. Here's everything I said there.
The game is amazing, but it has flaws that turn it into a love/hate relationship just like all games in the genre that ALWAYS get a key component wrong like Hunt Showdown and Escape From Tarkov. The game needs consistency and transparency. In Tarkov, even if the enemy has a level 6 plates in his vest, you can still shot them in the head or shred his legs to pieces. In your game, because the armor effects the entire body of the player using a higher level armor, this hits different. There's no consistency. You don't know what armor the enemy is using and without this piece of information, you can't make an educated decision about pushing or not a guy you just shot. You think you hurt him, you push him, but no, you get surprised and he had a lot of HP still because he was using a secret high level armor. You guys need to add some sort of tell to let us know which armor the opponent is using. For instance, when sparks are displayed when you hit an enemy, make those sparks the same color as the armor they are using.

Also, because of these armors you guys chose to put it into the game, you just rendered 90% of the weapons in your beta USELESS. Everyone trying to stay competitive absolutely had to use purple armor paired with the Torrente. Take the armor system down a notch, make them not as useful as you guys did so we can enjoy the rest of your game. There are so many cool weapons and they were rendered trash because if you use them 100% effective hitting only headshots for maximum damage, you are still penalized by the system with the enemy tanking all the shots with his secret high level armor and kills you with OP weapons that take no effort whatsoever.

If nothing is done about this, people will camp ever harder because they can't trust the game. And this won't be fun for anyone.

And add interesting and meaninful Quests. These "go loot this" quests are boring. There needs to be some sort of story and interesting things to accomplish on the maps besides picking up stuff.

In this part of the survey, things are asked about several subjects. I merely copied them without copying in reference to what they were. Hopefuly you can still understand it.

• Yes, the freaking Torrent. It has 70 rounds, insane RPM, it doesn't jam/heat up, it's very accurate and close and medium distances, it doesn't feel like any other gun in the game, it's totally OP, it became a MUST HAVE in order to stay competitive in the game against people who have it. If you have any other gun and even if you manage to consistently hit headshot after headshot as I have (even recorded, btw), the opponent will still shred you. That thing makes no sense. If you wanna keep it the way it is, fine, but at least make the player have to stay stationary, bypoded or not, to shoot it. Some balance needs to be done here. It's ridiculous.

• It needs QoL improvement. All tables and bottom bar options looks the same. Creating stuff is cumbersome because you need to hold the button, let go and then hold it again to create another of the same thing. Just let us hold to keep on going or choose a number of recipes to be made. Also, recipes are expensive af in the sense that it's hard to find the things needed for most of them. Our bags aren't big enough to fit meaningful loot for this kind of stuff. We end up needing to leave a lot of expensive things behind in order to bring crap home and do the crafts.

• It all just felt so underwhelming that I didn't even care about any of it except going into raids to complete quests, PvP and PvE. Just make all of these more meaningful so it actually matters.

• It all felt so underwhelming and rushed. It's all go loot quests. And having to rely on RNG to find the thing for the quest is worse. Plus, at the start, there's silly quests from only 1 trader. If you don't find what you need for that 1 trader, you're lock right out of the gate. Give quests from all traders at once. Make interesting quests that mean something and contribute towards a major plot. And that quest about killing the Fireball with the Ferro was dumb af. There's 2 types of Fireballs. How were we supposed to know that? A lot of people got confused and frustrated with it.

I'm glad we can agree on that at least. Thanks for sharing.
