ARC Raiders

ARC Raiders

The game is really fun but needs changes
I personally think that the game would do better long term if it stayed as PvE but I don't really mind there being PvEvP, but only if it was implemented better.

the game is 3rd person, instantly making a lot of fights just unfair, many times when entering a building I was shot by a person hiding behind a wall, peaking out for a quick second and getting back behind cover, and I am no saint as I also abused this a couple times to fight back against someone who was pushing me.

Also a lot of the quick use items seemed a bit useless, or rather, when I had to be so focused on PvP I almost never used a lot of the other stuff like lure grenades or that one grenade that shoots rockets at ARC. That is because most of the stuff in the game was clearly designed back when PvE was still the main focus.

The game looks amazing and the movement system is really fun but in my opinion it really falls short on PvP. I think the simplest "fix" would be a reputation system, where it would either give or take away your reputation points based on if you team up with people a lot or you just go and kill everyone you see.

It would make the game more enjoyable for both the people who want PvP and the ones who are more interested in PvE. I really like the game and would like for as many people as possible to also enjoy it, but I also want to enjoy it.

Most of my matches during the tech test I ran into friendly people who actually used voice chat and teamed up with me, but on the first and last day was when I encountered a lot of people who only seemed interested in killing me and nothing else. On the last day I even started going in with a completely empty inventory, not collecting anything to just meet people to try and gauge how many were friendly.
A lot either shot or aimed their guns at me, but after the first don't shoot they stopped (some even gave me bandages to heal up if I got hit). Some upon seeing me approach called out to me and were friendly, and the rest didn't care about anything and just kept shooting.

I didn't really track that data or anything, but I'd say around 50% were ready for PvP but chose not to continue the fight, 10% were friendly from the start, and the other 40% was fully hostile

on a side not:
I've noticed a lot of players(who seem to be here only for PvP) insult others for wanting the game to return to the vision it originally had (a massive PvE looter shooter where cooperation is encouraged), and a comment they love passing around is "go play a different game", but why won't they do it? why not play a different extracion shooter without PvE elements? there are many on the market, some are even free

Welp, this game's pvp is what brought me to it and it feels pretty great to play. Too bad for you. Maybe you can "go play a different game" because there are many games with PvE elements on the market, some are even free! A good PvPvE game is hard to find and looter shooters are a dime a dozen. Maybe go check out Borderlands 4, I hear it's going to have a quirky talking robot in it!

Just like any other

You do it all the time without noticing playing third-person games it's impossible not to. The fact that the camera is hovering above you gives you a completely different angle of view, you always, always see more than you should.

Switching to an item before using it is a cancer that Battle Royale has contracted.

The ranking system doesn't fit, it's still a competitive game.
I've had a lot less peaceful encounters, but it's nice that they're completely natural, It's a great variety. I think it's set up pretty well now.
20% 10% 70%

This is the Internet and over the decades of impunity many people, or rather children, have become openly defective people incapable of reasoning and adequate communication.

I love using the lure grenade to attract ARC on my opponent, I think all items has his usage and can adapt to your playstyle.

Little tip, you should watch corners when you enter a building, be cautious and just don't go in like it was a Mc donald.

I got monstly good vocal, people saying GG, or being friendly even when being killed. That even the first time in a pvp game I saw that much friendly people, like the time I team up with 4 other people agaisn't 4 other one and a rocketeer.

I already play different games, mostly helldivers 2, it's a great game but it's got a whole different feeling than this. Even though helldivers are like disposable soldiers, they have a lot of power, and it's up to 4 players. I'd love if there was some raid boss level in helldivers where you dive in with 8 people and take down an enemy like the queen in Arc raiders (bonus points if we could destroy limbs and it would still walk around and shoot)

there is also Forever winter(which I have only seen trailers for) which seems like the type of game I am wanting this game to be, it's just the setting in there feels a bit... too pessimistic? in that world it's already over for humans and they are just surviving. in Arc raiders it looks a bit more bright and hopeful, like we can still fight back against arc

This will happen also in FPP due to the audio ... They will hear you wait you and kill in the exxact same way in FPP.

at least they wouldn't have my exact location, and yeah camping will happen but when it's 3rd person it's worse because they can see around walls
the time to kill and the movement make it so if you don't want pvp you can just run as well as use door blockers to slow the other team down. i'm 100% a pvp player but if i wanted i'm sure i could play this game comfortably without fighting anyone. the movement is amazing inside and outside of pvp you've just got to use it well

The movement is probably one of the best out there, I really liked going to buried city with nothing on me to just run around on rooftops and do "parkour".
