First Person Perspective (Seperate Mode)
Developers should think about introducing a separate mode with a first-person perspective, as Krafton did in PUBG.
There was already discussion about unfair PVP combat, peakers advantage etc. Here the same problem arises again. There are no key solutions to reduce this problem to a minimum. FPP is the key in a game with a PVP focus.

This. By all counts this seems like it's an amazing game, idk why they had to ruin that by making it thirdperson only.

Like idec if I'm put at a disadvantage, I'd love to be able to toggle into firstperson and play that way.

see this happen to many times in the past , i will never understand why dont use a system like SCUM where other players not render if they aren't inside your first person camera

Seriously. Any PVP game should be first person. I went from hearing about this game and being super excited to play it then found out it was third person. I guess I will be skipping it. 3rd person pvp is ass.

3rd person view games like this tend to have a focus on player animation and movement having a bit more weight to it, not to mention being able to dodge roll. That usually feels really janky in 1st person.

And yeah, PUBG has 3rd person but the animation is nowhere near as natural looking, and the 1st person always felt weird to me. It doesn't do either view well, imo.

See also: GTA5. first person is awkward af because what looks natural in 3rd person feels floaty and laggy in 1st person.

+1 vote for first person perspective. I can't stand third person perspective shooters.

And what's wrong with COD omni movement ?

I’d love to see ARC Raiders offer an first-person perspective, or at least a toggle between third- and first-person. This wouldn’t take anything away from the current vision, but would significantly broaden its appeal.

First-person would add more precision in aiming and close-quarters combat, and could benefit certain playstyles like sniping or stealth. Third-person offers better situational awareness, so having the option to switch between them would add tactical depth. It’s not about replacing one or the other—just giving players the flexibility to choose based on the situation or personal preference.

From a market standpoint, a lot of shooter fans (especially on PC) are more engaged with first-person titles. Supporting both perspectives could attract a wider audience without alienating anyone. It also improves accessibility, especially for players who experience motion sickness or discomfort in third-person view.

Several successful titles like PUBG and Star Wars Battlefront have shown that supporting both views can work well when done right. I think this feature would make ARC Raiders more immersive, more competitive, and more inclusive—without compromising its core design.

No. Third person, looking around corners crap is what we want to get away from. No one would use first person if third is still available because you are at such a disadvantage against people sitting behind walls looking around them with third person.

It's because the game was developed for PVE which suited third person like The Division. Now they have pivoted to PVP(PVE) it just doesn't work for competitive play. I suspect they haven't gone first person because they know people are less likely to spend real cash on cosmetic outfits if they can't see their avatar. It's also gone from Free To Play to $40 but it looks like Battle passes are still a thing. Optional (hopefully just cosmetic and not P2W) but if you're charging $40 is it OK to expect players to fork out extra cash for in game items/cosmetics? Seems a bit greedy IMHO. Plus how often is the game going to wipe out progress?

The more I learn about the game the more I'm put off. Is it going to be another Tarkov cheater paradise full of no life sweaty players who are permanently in game? Shame as the atmosphere and setting looks amazing but based on what I've seen so far it's definitely not for me.
