It's annoying. Why are people who submitted yesterday being given access?

Told a friend about the game yesterday, he applied yesterday and this morning he got a message with access. Tell me, what the hell is this? A person who never knew about the game and didn't even want to apply, but just clicked the button and got access?

It's completely random.

If you didn't get in before then it's pure luck.

Doesn't matter when you applied, where, how many hours you have in other Embark games.

Be patient, I'm sure you'll get it eventually, my friend.

I don't think applying even mattered, it's all random, i didn't get a code, i haven't even checked the games store page before randomly seeing it in my library just now.

It's a thing with Steam and Playtest access. The earlier you sign up and the more time is between you signing up and the playtest actually starting the less chance you have to get selected as it happens regularly that those early sign ups are "forgotten" and then later on (if the devs and/or steam) notice it they post a community news telling people that the issue is fixed and everyone who signed up early should get keys now. Seen it happen with at least 4 titles by now.

So if you want an actual chance to playtest on steam wait at least until a playtest is announced with a date and is only a few days or at most a few weeks away. Anything longer and chances are you won't be getting in until they realize that the issue happened again.
