Demo is up and I am in the test servers with some other at present.
Defiance flopped so hard.....
Certainly had potential, as I played Defiance at launch. Though it kept being reworked until the game was unrecognizable.
Oh that is a nostalgia trip.
I bought all but the last DLC for DRG and only because I haven't played it in a while. If this game turns out to be fun I will show the same support for this game if their monetization is with cosmetic DLC's.
As for Defiance, I never watched the show but I did play the game some time after it launched and liked it a lot. I did not like what they did when they appeared to be making a new Defiance (2050) because it turned out to be the same game but crappier.
I actually heard people consider the downfall of BF series started with 3 and 4.
4 for me is when they made it impossible to collect everything within the time you leave to BF hardline.
Any game requiring servers, continuous patches, customer support, etc. is almost always going to require funding (from somewhere) to pay for all those things. Very, very few games are truly "free to play".
I.e. - PlanetSide 2 may be free for some, but it's most certainly being paid for by some players via cosmetics and/or monthly membership....so the game isn't exactly "free"; some are paying for it's existence to continue. And without those players who pay $$'s, the game would grind to a halt entirely. If I'm not mistaken, that's what happened with PlanetSide 1.
Just wanted to put that out there. ;)
