And yet they repeatedly fail this.

I enjoyed Yakuza 7's dub. Regardless of language, the Yakuza, Judgement and other spin-off games are still very enjoyable.
Kiryu's VA is what killed the English voices in Like a Dragon for me. I get it. People have nostalgia for the PS2 dub, and that's why they brought him back, but being real here, he was just as bad as anyone else in that dub back then, and he's still awful in Like a Dragon.
And I seriously wonder how, when he's got such a long career and massive numbers of roles behind him at this point, but maybe they actually wanted that stiff and wooden delivery like the PS2 version again.
But yeah, if they did English for this and brought him in again, I'd instantly be switching to the Japanese voices without a second thought.
Ishin is considered a special case.
I don't think I've seen a SINGLE game where someone claims "yeah, there's nothing censorred/changed in the localization" (plenty where I haven''t seen claims that they are, but none where there's any claims that 'this is the game they got right').
That's because the Japanese language is one of small details that makes the difference, while in English version they are just talking like they are doing a cartoon show. And if you wonder why the characters feel so different, it is because when English dubs are pushed they sometimes deviate from the original dialogue to so called "spice things up" you can noticed that if the Japnanese version subs are the same as the english dub. Dubtitles basically destroyes the original tone of characters and sometimes of the whole dialogue itself.
Be careful with the publishers: Bandai Namco, Square Enix,
They have a very loose translation with a lot of garbage that wasn't even being said in the original game. Square is so bad that they are now completely twisting some games to push certain politics.
Even in the Yakuza games there are some altered translations because it might offend the people from the LGBTRQ mafia or women in general.
And what companies do it 'right'? What games? I've never seen anyone give an answer on this.
That's because its becoming harder to find, and most that know Japanese good enough don't care anymore to check how badly games are being altered. Xseed used to be the best but the moment Thomas Lipschultz left the sorta lost most big titles and also censored some stuff. I have to say that even that guy ended up being pro censorship during the woke pandemic.
It's really becoming near impossible to find a Japanese publisher that doesn't let their localizers so called spice things up or totally insert ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. And now they even wanna erase everything bad being said about women in Anime titles.
Nearly most VN publisher let their translators/localizers do what they want when it comes to inserting stupid ♥♥♥♥. Nintendo censors their dialogue in the western versions. Right now even D3publisher release Samurai Maidens and that was full of cringe woke dialogue, with the whole Gen Z instead of high school girls. I do have to give them credit for lsitening and altering the lines after massive complaints on the steam forum. But yet they still censored the game.
NISA is even worse they have done bad translations for years. and are even now censoring dialogue in the games they publish, because it offends the translators and localizers themselves. They even didn't translate one ending in their games and when people asked they said that they should just play the English dub version of the game.
Bandai Namco refuses to fix anything, they claim to care but the dubtitle thing is beyond lazy and as far as i know they still haven't fixed the botched ending from Elden Rings Ranni which is one of the major ending in the game and certain dialogue related to that quest.
Seven Seas Light novel publisher has removed entire walls of text of that's they published because ti offended the localizers and translators.
JAST USA claims to be accurate but i had a argument with the head of their translation team and he admitted that the dialogue was kept out while claiming its still the same feeling while they could have just and the lines when he first said they stay accurate when i played one of their games and noticed something being said wasn't translated and left out. He also doesn't mind hiring translators that are known for altering dialogue and hate the fanbase.
You could say, with all the translators/localizer mostly being the mentally weak woke types you pretty much doomed with every game on the market.
I'm still curious if persona 5 royal was still altered on PC, They wanted to retranslated and hire another translator who was know to push memes in her translations. There was some backlash and people did send mail to the publisher with examples of her bad translations.
Funny thing is that the first persona 5 release was accurate but crude.
Also, for some reason these localizer/translators love to push over the top curse words in nearly ever game they work on, to so called spice things up, Meru (translator) couldn't even be bothered to translate Japanese English into normal English. People complained and she had to fix it. The game had a fan translation that was free and people said that the free translation was far surperior.
In short, learn Japanese is the only actual solution to bypass these woke localizers and translators.
and Keep an eye on this site.

Sorry forr any Grammar mistakes, I got my PC hooked to a 4k screen and everything in steam forums is displayed so small for me, and there is no damn Zoom option!
