Deathspank won't start on Windows 11

Anyone who have Deathspank and Windows 11 have this problem? I just can't play the game, it crashes windows as soon as a hit play. I played this game on ps3 and I miss so much, I don't want to give up :/

Not sure about win 11 but on win 10 I went into the executable properties and checked "disable fullscreen optimizations"worked like a charm after that.

it didn't work for me :( I even tried with compatibility mode but no luck. Thank for the tip anyway

Had the same problem. Just reinstalled it and then it began to start normally

its an old game, running it on a really terrible OS aka win 11 is bad.
win 11 is terrible, so bad that win 12 will be out shortly. 2024 q3
so dont upgrade to 11 , stick to 10 at most.

The main thing is.. CPU CORE 0
all games that irk or stutter or lag etc or crash on startup.
Its because old games had 1 core or dual.
not 8+ cores
core 0 is responsible for ONLY THE OS hal.
BUT old games use core 0

Make a bat file OR just learn how to set affinity on cpu core 0 = uncheck

this solves most
as well you MUST disable full screen opt. Which some bright person did mention.
Re installing old redists might help to
win 11 will refuse to install old old ones. This is why its TERRIBLE as a retro game os
win 11 sees some of these as malware.
Stick a DVD game in with secrom of FDISK or starforce into your win 11 pc. win 11 will never ever let you install it.

I am also guessing you have some insane new huge UHD WIDE monitor running some 200+ hz
if so... remove that tv.. get a 1080p standard 48$ cheap monitor and run old games on that.
