Which ship is the best?

Right now I'm using the Wallace cause it seems to have really good handling and helps me keep my speed up through turns. But I've only tried out about half of them.

For career progression, whatever offers the highest top speed as it's a strong stat early on.

It's not definitive though, as Zorin pointed out. Ships are only as powerful as their pilot and ships within the same tier are expected to perform at a similar level, but there can be upsets depending on the track, pilot and loadout.

The lower end of this tier list is currently in flux atm due to the recent patch normalizing ship hitboxes so that ships like Lunare don't scrape significantly more than others.

When it comes to pushing records, the meta is strong. When it comes to multiplayer, things are much more freeform. The podium for the 1 year anniversary tournament was filled with 2 Sulha's and 1 Bmoth. None of the S tiers made it which emphasizes the pilot skill variable.

Using the best, aka: the meta, means jackall if you aren't good at the game. Even the worst vehicles in the game can perform well when used by a skilled hand. All the reason why most say the best tends to be ever you're most comfortable with.

I miss Redout 1 where you can choose your first racing team instead being forced into racing for the ESA. They were still a jack of all trades and perfect for a first timer but still you had a choice to go with something else if it caught your eye.

So I tested all of them out except for Conqueror and Lunare only cause I know I don't like those ships. It looks like Helix, ESA, and Wallace are going to be my go to ships. After that it looks like Akhal, Mantis, Sulha, Asera, Koen, Buran as my mid tiers. And then Conqueror, Behemoth, and Lunare as my don't touch for now. Later on when I'm better at the game I'll run another test with all ships.

I stand corrected on the comment I deleted. Buran is really good, same with Koen, Asera, Helix, and Wallace
