Why this game needs 3 control "sticks"?
Left stick for turning.Ok.
Right stick for Yaw. Ok
But D-pad for roll when we are jumping at maximum speeds and one second means crash?

Yeah, the d-pad for rolling is pretty awkward.

You get used to it, but it is kind of an awkward edition. I think there was only like one jump where I felt like it really payed off so far.

Set roll to left and right stick click

can't you put roll on triggers?

The question is not if I can put the d-pad inputs in other buttons, of course I can but it isn't intuitive. We have two basic controls for movement, the game must use them for all type of move needs.

I have no idea what the devs were thinking on this one. For now I put rolls on left and right stick clicks and it works well, but the devs should instead have an option to disable either direction or strafing and instead enable those to roll during jumps.

Disabling strafing wouldn't really be a solution since you might need to strafe to adjust for a bad launch. Disabling turns would be a better solution, but even then the transition from flight to grounded could lead to some awkward turns into walls. The system is just really jank in general and should have been restricted to easy jumps. Flipping my ship only to see that I needed to strafe but couldn't tell because of how rolling screws with perception sucks.

Genius! The DPAD is such an awkward choice, super glad I came across your comment for rebinding to the thumbstick click. Makes the world of difference.

This.

You could also remap them to Y/X/A/B if that suits you(?)

Some people did not like the rolling mechanic at all, luckily there's a rolling assist option in Controls, which makes it feel more like Redout 1.

It took some adjusting but I like it as is. The auto roll in Redout 1 was super irritating.

I believe you can set auto pilot settings to autoroll for you though if you don't like it

It doesn't Have the autopilot do it if skill is an issue.
