The "extra rewards" you can get are chips in different codes. By "Custom S-Ranking" viruses, which is deleting them in a single turn before the custom gauge fills, without using Navichips, you get those chips in exclusive codes. Some of these are very desirable, such as * code. Some of them are not-so-desirable.
I've been updating and maintaining a spreadsheet of how to get every chip code, including which codes drop in which version of the game, and which codes require S+/S++ Busting Rank from using Custom Style, which you may find helpful. I'll be importing this data to TeamBN's master sheet over the next few days so that the data is more centralised for people looking for in-depth information about this game.

It's on a case-by-case basis, the spreadsheet details which codes are obtained with an S+/S++ rank, and which need a specific rank to obtain.
