Ultrawide monitors do not display the game properly (stretched)
I'm playing on a 3440x1440 monitor. Even if I set the in-game resolution to 2560x1440, both of the fullscreen modes wind up stretching the game across the whole monitor.

From what I can tell, the only way to get it working in full screen at the proper aspect ratio is to manually switch Windows to a 16:9 resolution before launching the game.

Please patch the game to add black bars to the sides of ultrawide displays.

I don't have an ultrawide monitor to test with, but you could try using Lossless Scaling (or a free alternative, I think i've heard of one called Magpie) to manually go into borderless windowed from windowed mode without stretching.

I posted this in the other discussion you opened on Vol 2, but I'll post here in case other people with ultra-wides see this thread instead

I've got a 5220x1440 and found a different (better?) setting to change to fix it. I'm sure there's a similar setting on AMD cards, but for my Nvidia card I went into the Nvidia Control Panel -> Adjust Desktop Size and Position and set "Scaling Mode" to "No scaling" and "Perform scaling on" to "Display".

It may not work as well on all monitors, but this was the perfect setting for me, so that I don't have to change the windows resolution every time I play

Edit: Annoyingly my settings only work if they were applied *before* the game starts. And once you Alt+Tab out of it and back in, it goes back to being stretched. Still, I hope this helps someone else

I tried doing this with Borderless Gaming

https://store.steampowered.com/app/388080/Borderless_Gaming/ but it doesn't work at all. I just get a black screen.

This unfortunately does not work for my monitor. I tried No Scaling, set it to perform scaling on my display instead of the GPU, and checked the "Override the scaling mode set by games and programs." Still stretched when using both fullscreen modes.

The only thing that works is setting Windows to 2560x1440 and using borderless fullscreen in-game.

Same issue. Luckily I have PBP as an option on my monitor so it runs on 2560x1440 but if I have it off, I cant change the resolution and it stretches

A free program named magpie worked. It was mentioned above. Just start magpie, then start mega man in windowed mode and press the win key+shift+a. If you like it, can you just set up a profile in magpie and launch straight from it with a button press. Make sure to set scaling to auto in the profile. Very simple.

Have a similar issue where my 16:10 monitor displays stretched, and the only resolution option is "1366x768". There's nothing I can do about it, Windows display settings, third party programs, there's no mods for the game yet, and I can't find any AMD settings to work around it ether... At least I can play on Steam Deck without these issues (side note: the Deck has a 16:10 ratio as too) but still, this is unacceptably frustrating.

You've tried the same thing that gets it working for me? Setting your Windows resolution to the highest 16:9 choice, then launching the game and setting it to borderless?

And maybe that Magpie thing would help, I haven't tried it yet.

I don't mean to annoy you with stuff you've already tried, just hoping it helps a bit.

edit: I tried Magpie and it works! I had to use the keyboard shortcut again after alt-tabbing but creating a game profile fixed that issue. Thanks so much!

Please fix ultrawide support without the need for third party fixes.

Have you tried going into your settings, AMD Adrenaline or Nvidia Control Panel, and setting the scaling to preserve aspect ratio?

Tried that on AMD, doesn't work.

I found a workaround using an aspect ratio "filter" though ReShade.

ty for bringing this up, just tried this. -0.334 on a 21:9 monitor will give you the exact correct aspect ratio
