These 499 chips that used to be exclusive, will they be available for the story mode?
Because that would be op af, especially if you can get them right from the beginning. Maybe multiplayer only chips?

They are not Chips, they are mod cards. There are 3 sets of mod cards, one set for 4, 5 and 6 each.

There are several promotion/event chips for each game, unavailable by normal means. Those will be available in this collection.

Mod cards are free to use in Story Mode AND PVP. In PVP, there's a setting to allow or deny using mod cards. You can find this in the Network Battle (PVP) screen. It's a toggle-able option.

In Story mode, the only restriction about mod cards exist in Battle Network 4. In there, killing bosses in record time (under 30 seconds) DOES NOT RECORD kill time WHILE USING MOD CARDS. To power up their SP chips, you need to kill them under 10 seconds.

Battle Network 5 and Battle Network 6 games does not have this restriction. You can use them freely, even on bosses.

you could use them in the beginning of mmbn4-6 if you had an e-reader and started the game when you already had the devices/cards. so of course you can use them in the story here.
