sounds like another ken penders -.- honestly if you are contracted for something read the contract.
Even if you make something for a company's IP, you would usually be credited for your contribution regardless of your lack of ownership to the IP.
Yeah, Sega, a family friendly company known for their family friendly franchises like Yakuza, Judgment, Valkyria Chronicles, Company of Heroes, Total War, and their Atlus catalogue.
Whatever the artist makes that isn't related to their client's brand does not and should not exclude them from being credited. Though even if they did R34 of the client's brand, that doesn't mean they should not be credited. Credit is given where credit is due.
I'd say it's naive for you to think that companies would never ever hire porn artists when all that really matters is whether they can draw or model well which makes them worth hiring.
the problem here is that it seems like a stretch since they were hired for a 3d model of classic amy. They trying to prove that 2d classic amy who has existing sprites in sonic CD is their work and not segas. which already i don't really see how this is "their amy." it just looks like sonic CD classic amy.
I agree they should get credit for if but if Sega paid them to make it then its Sega's property now and if they broke some rules and burned bridges as the 2020 tweets suggest then that make be the reason Sega didn't want to include them assuming the people that used a model provided to them didn't have a name to credit.
where I stand, if you are hired for the purpose of the work, you should be credited in that work. if you make something for someone unrelated to a specific work, and they one day decide to use it for that work, then I don't think credit is due, not within that work anyway.
so, if they were commissioned to make models for the game, they ought to be credited for in the game.
I mean, average hedgehog lifespan is 5 years, so 12 is like a granny.
and on that note, could one not draw amy as an elderly grandma? so, canonical age has no bearing on fan art really, as one can draw any character to be any age one desires.
plus, she's a furry character. the fact that amy being 12 is more of an issue than her being a woodland creature to you is kinda concerning. like, the animal part is fine... but the age of that animal is the issue?
I mean, if you're alright with people enjoying fictional animal characters, what's even the point of moralizing about the age of that fictional character?
I know, it's unfair but I don't define what's socially acceptable (like how a teacher that did dubious movies before may never get hired even if she just needed money and is not a shady person).
sega also removed age from all the sonic characters bios on sonic channel as well.
that said
