The Amy model was stolen from an +18 Artist
It appears that Amy Rose's model was stolen from an 3D +18 Artist and never was credited:

Clarification: it wasn’t stolen, Rafaknight was contracted to make it specifically for SEGA years ago, they just used it as a base for this new model with some very minor adjustments. Agreed that it should be credited though.

Well the thing is that:

Amy Rose belongs to sega, an artist holds no copyright on the character
With that logic, I guess people like Christian Whitehead and Headcannon should not be credited because they do not own the IP.
Even if you make something for a company's IP, you would usually be credited for your contribution regardless of your lack of ownership to the IP.

The artist themselves is making explicit content therefore Sega, a family friendly company, can't just credit an artist who creates content that is not suited to childrens and minors (this is why The Pokémon Company removed one artist that made a suggestive comic involving a character from the franchise).
Yeah, Sega, a family friendly company known for their family friendly franchises like Yakuza, Judgment, Valkyria Chronicles, Company of Heroes, Total War, and their Atlus catalogue.

Whatever the artist makes that isn't related to their client's brand does not and should not exclude them from being credited. Though even if they did R34 of the client's brand, that doesn't mean they should not be credited. Credit is given where credit is due.
I'd say it's naive for you to think that companies would never ever hire porn artists when all that really matters is whether they can draw or model well which makes them worth hiring.

the problem here is that it seems like a stretch since they were hired for a 3d model of classic amy. They trying to prove that 2d classic amy who has existing sprites in sonic CD is their work and not segas. which already i don't really see how this is "their amy." it just looks like sonic CD classic amy.

Gonna be honest I don't know a lot about that situtation other than ownership/copyright/publishing issues and why Sega has to go around his stuff like the Echidnas. I'm just saying this is similar to the Bayonetta voice actress because she drummed up a ton of drama about how they wanted to under pay her and it blew up in her face when the truth came out.

I'm not going to die on a hill because I'm fairly out of the loop in this situation but it could've just been an honest mistake with the people working on Origins/Superstars just grabbed what Sega already had and didn't think anymore about it and the artist could've quietly and patiently reached out to say "hey remember me from a few years ago, I made that model so could I get a name credit?" But instead from the outside it looks like someone is going ham posting all their work to twitter trying to get a mob acting like Sega personally betrayed and stole their work.

I agree they should get credit for if but if Sega paid them to make it then its Sega's property now and if they broke some rules and burned bridges as the 2020 tweets suggest then that make be the reason Sega didn't want to include them assuming the people that used a model provided to them didn't have a name to credit.

also when they said 18+ artist i though this was going to be some spicy amy model kinda disapointed XD
It's unfair to not credit someone for their work.
now, here's the thing. if you contract someone to make you a model, and have this 3D model, years later you make something using this model. should the person be credited as working on the game? how many games should they be credited for this model? should they still be credited when someone updates the model?

where I stand, if you are hired for the purpose of the work, you should be credited in that work. if you make something for someone unrelated to a specific work, and they one day decide to use it for that work, then I don't think credit is due, not within that work anyway.

so, if they were commissioned to make models for the game, they ought to be credited for in the game.

I mean, average hedgehog lifespan is 5 years, so 12 is like a granny.

and on that note, could one not draw amy as an elderly grandma? so, canonical age has no bearing on fan art really, as one can draw any character to be any age one desires.

plus, she's a furry character. the fact that amy being 12 is more of an issue than her being a woodland creature to you is kinda concerning. like, the animal part is fine... but the age of that animal is the issue?

I mean, if you're alright with people enjoying fictional animal characters, what's even the point of moralizing about the age of that fictional character?
Anyway, when an artist produces nsfw content it's risky for them to get an actual carrier.

I know, it's unfair but I don't define what's socially acceptable (like how a teacher that did dubious movies before may never get hired even if she just needed money and is not a shady person).

They have intended ages but the problem is like most fictional characters they don't age. Sega can take this new direction and have characters mature all they want and Sonic, Amy, and Knuckles can easily be written in to be adults at this point and not physically change but Tails is a kid and its hard to write around that unless they change him, same with Cream.
Since when did Ian own Sega's characters?
