The DLC adds 16 new weapons , you will need to disable 8 of them to prevent yourself from seeing them.
I would recommend checking youtube videos to decide how you feel about the weapons. The base game has attacks that are aesthetically weird already like NO FUTURE (rune tracer evolution inspired by Saga Frontier) or Valkyrie Turner but for sure the Among Us weapons stand out more.
I don't like among us , I got the DLC just to support the dev , there are a couple characters with interesting traits that let you break the game in cool ways and a couple strong weapons , plus the adventure mode stuff if you enjoy that , for just those things it's probably worth 2 bucks.
Personally I got a few hours of enjoyment out of the DLC stage itself, after that I felt bored but kept going to grind all the character unlocks because the characters themselves are more interesting than the DLC stage.
The other DLC stages were much much better IMO and never felt boring. Just consider it a $2 tip for the dev.
Poncle (vampire survivors dev) and Among Us dev Innersloth are friends so this collaboration DLC was a fun side project for them. Not really selling out or a cash grab , probably won't boost sales of either game since the players don't really overlap , it's just a fun "What if" DLC which is why it is low priced and doesn't have achievements in it (wouldn't be fair to people who don't buy).
Alright, that's good to know. I think I'll skip it, at least until I've cleaned out all the other content. On the other hand, $2 for a game I love is ridiculously cheap, and I want to reward good business practices...
We've had a lot of community members end up enjoying Emergency Meeting despite not being into Among Us. So, you might actually end up enjoying it.
I think it does feel a bit different than our other DLCs, but we did our best to keep the collaboration in line with the visuals and aesthetics of Vampire Survivors.
Though I usually play the game by myself, the solo experience is fun to play, there's a bunch of stuff to see.
Like, some of the weapons interact with enemies in interesting ways, like being able to pull enemies off the screen or nullify them completely.
There's also a couple more characters with special gimmicks, akin to Menya Moonspell if you got Legacy of the Moonspell DLC, like one that can't get hurt, but also can't deal damage in the normal fashion.
Plus it comes with a new Adventure, and I like the adventures.
But it doesn't fit; I understand where you're coming from and I agree on that, but also appreciate that the developer is trying something new at the same time. Of course you can just disable the stuff you don't want later.
My principle is buy every DLC a game you love releases, even if you don't like it. It's not even a question for me, their fair business model needs to be rewarded and it's the best way to guarantee more content in the future.
Maybe, tbh I haven't really played with the DLC that much, but whenever I used the new abilities and units on the new stage it seemed pretty crazy to me with all the extra stuff they get, but it's really hard to say, I'm not the right person to rate these, that was just my impression. Or maybe it's just the stage itself with the bonus pickups that skewed my perception.
Personally I think the foscari npcs more interesting and noticeably stronger.
I think these sort of crossovers don’t really end up so well when the games aesthetics don’t match. I don’t like the Dredge DLC for Dave the Diver, for example, and if anything it has made me decide I will not buy Dredge.
It's literally Vampire Survivors with Among Us characters.
There are some cool weapons, and the characters it brings are also interesting.
The adventure I thought was way too easy, since you can make yourself
really powerful with just the golds you start with.
The thing I most hate about the DLC is its boss, which is literally a tanky giant
meatball, that can even be frozen to make it more pathetic, so be prepared to
get sick of it after mashing it for several minutes.
The only major downside is there is more to banish once you unlock things, not enough banish to go around.
