Are all red gems the same xp?

I ask because sometimes a red gem will not level me up at all while others feel like they level me up like 10+ times.

I think red gems condense from blues and greens. Might be wrong though.

That is correct from what I've understood, but i feel like sometimes not all red gems have the same amount of xp.

Red gems that drop from enemies due to the luck stat are not the same as the red gems that form by combining offscreen missed gems. Formed gems condense a bunch of missed xp gems into one, so if you missed a ton of gems, you get 3-5 levels at once. Dropped red gems are just like 10x a normal gem.

Well that's good to know thank you for the info. It'd be nice though if they made a new color to indicate like a super red gem from a lesser one.

I had the same question, and I suspected that it was an EXP condensing thing but I wasn't sure, so it's nice to hear it confirmed. And I agree, making it a different color would be great. Black, maybe?

Still don't understand why the condensed gem wasn't made a different unique colour or given a unique look. And also don't understand why the game doesn't explain anything about it. It doesn't even mention it exists.

Either yellow or like rainbow. Although one of the DLC characters make them all glow rainbows if you get their awakened item. Still, not everyone will get it so I don't see why they wouldn't make it like rainbow..
