Master Librarian, the new Sammy?

So, as I'm doing my rounds to try to play with every character, I came to try the Master Librarian, and boy, I wasn't ready.

As a lot of characters, our dear old man in rocking chair(the one who doesn't smell like garlic and bird droppings) has a dirty little secret: An attack which can activate and transmutes enemies into entire bag of gold for a certain duration while triggering a gold fever. This, added to a crazy 1000+% greed. It makes it easy for the old guy to get 400k or 500k worth of bonus on gold fever. And that's WITHOUT Disco of Gold.

To put it in perspective, a simple non-optimal run with him of 30 minutes netted me 11M gold. Without inverse too.

It doesn't stop there as apparently his gold transmutting attack also can turn into bags bosses resistant to instant death, which include floating eyes and atlanteans of all sizes. Old man doesn't care, you are gold now.

Now, where the big difference is, is that Sammy gains levels from gold, which allows Sammy to power up fast in addition of making money. Our old man, sadly, doesn't power up nearly as fast. In addition his weapon is the only way to palliate to his regular lack of speed, as he's pretty gimped on that front, and we know that weapon to mess with character control quite a lot. Still, when you have an insta kill for gold in your back pocket, it balances things up quite nicely.

When it comes to gold generation though, I'm pretty sure that the Master Librarian is now the new leader, as it's an amount of income that can't be matched even by our dear caterpillar.

The Librarian also has a big advantage with his 100+ rerolls, skips and banish, which makes composing your ideal build a lot easier. With the current situation of the lack of seals, that's a powerful tool.

So hear it out, gold farmers, there is a new sheriff in town and the future is the past.

Librarian's huge Greed stat may make it seem better, but Sammy being able to level with Vicious is still exponentially stronger and easier to set up.
I honestly don't think *anyone* (at the same Egg count) will ever be able to outclass Sammy in Gold gen.

Give a try then, because I've never came close to those numbers with Sammy in terms of gold generation. And that's with the librarian having something like 1000 less eggs my Sammy has.

It is not just the greed stat, far from it, it's the ability to turn gold fevers into completely insane banks of money. Being stronger in itself loses importance when you have an insta-kill gold transmute which also generates money.

I know it doesn't really matter to your point, but if you are curious, Master Librarian's special gold transmutation attack is callled Power of Lire. You can see it in the post-game screen.

Unfortunately, gold farming had already been trivialized to the point of one run from Sammy being enough money, forever. However, I am curious as to what you had going for 11M when Sammy reaches 300-400M on non-optimal runs without eggs. Did you take nothing that would boost income at all? Based on the unique traits of each character, it seems Sammy has much more potential after a few minutes in.

Ah yes, I often forget that some people, unlike me, use the "DLC that doesn't exists" and the Life Scanner. Of course with that, it's a lot easier to get absurd levels of power quick and easy, which makes leveling more worthwhile so that will naturally lean toward making Sammy better by virtue of that single weapon existing. But without the life scanner? I still believe the Master Librarian can get better results.

I did not use the Life Scanner.

I don't have that DLC and Sammy makes 11 million gold in 10 minutes (without eggs). Librarian is no where near as good.
