Brauner and Count Olrox

I've tried so many runs but still can't unlocked them. Are these bugged?

Brauner is notoriously difficult to unlock (see: all the other threads with people losing their minds about unlocking him), but Olrox is unusual. You're defeating him with Dark Rift as one of your weapons?

With Brauner, I followed someone else's advice and went all in on Blood Astronomia weapons (Song of Mana, Garlic, Clock Lancet, etc), but sealed all of their evolutions. With all of them evolved, they'll be killing too many of the paintings while Blood Astronomia doesn't get the chance. Then I unlocked him on my next run, following that advice.

Yeah, I only used the Dark Rifts while disabling the other 5 weapon slots.

Thanks for the tips on Brauner. I’ll give it a go without evolving them.

Dark Rift insta-kills Olrox's second form, so just get enough stuff to whittle him down to switch forms while having Dark Rift on your person. You should here the jingle if you unlock him.

Right. I killed him when he was still in humanoid form, so he didn’t get the chance to transform.
