Crashing on load on Steam Deck

Trying to get this to load on my Steam Deck just results in an immediate crash on boot. Anyone know how to fix this?

I'm just getting the Deck logo loading screen spinning endlessly, no sign that the game is doing anything. Just picked it up on the discount because I'd heard it ran well on Deck. ☹️

I've been playing on SD using the GPU lag fix option and it's worked without issues,

I'm having the same problem as OP. Haven't played the game for 6 months. It ran fine then. Wanted to give the DLC a try but now having this issue.

I’ve tried all three of the different options from the menu at launch. None of them work. Just stuck on a rotating Steam logo.

Huh. Started Nuclear Throne, which was was working fine yesterday, and got the same error - just an endlessly spinning Steam logo. Only this time I could hear the game running in the background. Switched to desktop mode and it worked just fine. Tried the same with Vampire Survivors and that was fine too, only the game was running windowed. Switched to full screen, went back to handheld mode and it was fine. It’d clearly been fine all along, only because there’s a epilepsy warning screen you have to click through, there was nothing to hear.

I just have a straight crash. I bought the game, then decided to buy the two DLC packs separate the same day. Loading the game for the first time, it just crashes on every boot. I've tried all three options, and both the standard and Steam Deck beta branches on top of the regular one with all options.

Ended up getting this to work by opting into the New Engine beta, uninstalling the game, and reinstalling it. No idea what caused that.

Go to the game properties>manage>verify integrity of game files. It will wash all your game files and download any missing or corrupt ones.

I'm on the latest Steam OS, game up date and both DLCs and the game runs spectacularly on Steam Deck. At no point during any upgrade process did it seem to have a problem.

DID have this problem with EVIL WEST on Steam Deck. After I verified the game file integrity, that fixed it for that game. That game runs like butter on the Deck too. If you're in to 3rd person shoot/beat 'em ups, worth checking out if your on Deck.
