I start always with 2 weapon slots, so starting weapon + lifesign scan (literally banish almost all weapons on collection so lifesign is easy to get), and then Silent Old Sanctuary arcana at start. And with inverse, you can go with Awake also to get few more revivals which boost your stats.
Then just go for Empty Tome + Armor passives and so on. Works for me, but then I do have all of the passive upgrades purchases, but zero eggs on characters. Start can be bit tricky, but after empty tome or two, things will get easier. Especially with lifesign healing and when it evolves, giving stats really fast.
[this gimmick doesn't work to those characters who comes in pairs as part of their gimmick, but you do eventually unlock their solo forms to enable limited weapon slots again]
On early game the Lifesign Scan will help you survive especially capable of healing most of your HP back up whenever you enter Showstopper mode (temporary invuln + max Cooldown but activates at low HP), also makes it less hard to fully heal your HP again to be able to reuse the Showstopper ability again just in case
so far the best run i've had is 5/6 bosses. i used the virginia suit with 6 weapon slots, taking slash as the first arcana, and taking bladed emerald weapons in every slot. the reason being the character's perk benefits from every dlc weapon and the slash arcana boosts every one of them too so you actually get decent damage. starting off with the bottom-right (yomi) portal (because i find that one the most difficult) and moving clockwise, i made it to the last boss after around 15 mins without dying at all, but then died twice there without getting a chance at a second arcana (would've picked awake). honestly the first time i've felt any sense of difficulty in the game and it was pretty fun.
i still can't work out the emerald rapture thing. i tried using every 'flying' character i have and hugging all the walls but couldnt get through. i also tried boosting my speed with max level wings to see if i could 'clip' through but no luck. the only people i know who have got it used the flying enemy from the castlevania dlc which is another one i don't have
The new content is really hard, and I think you'll be tight on time to complete it all in time without being heavily egged up. I also wound up using paranormal scan shenanigans for my inverse run with diva. If you don't have that up your sleeve, endless mode is part of the base game and should take pressure off of you.
oh it's a bit misleading, what I meant if a character that has "ignore walls/can fly" listed in their character select tooltip means they can clip through without building up high amount of MoveSpeed, for the base game there's only Gyoruntin and within the DLC Diva No.5 has another form that has flight ability
I started from the bottom boss, as he is the strongest and got the highest HP, his spawn is under you when you arrive and there are no places to hide, so I wanted to dispatch him quickly, and after that I went in the clockwork sense, to the left from door to door.
About the Emerald weapon I’m missing the 3 secret characters and I don’t know about the secret boss if there is one, other than using spoilers or secret codes to see if one of the characters is using that as starter
will give inverse a go with mover tomorrow
GyorunTIN, not GyorunTON
it's a secret mecha version of Gyorunton that you can get from Carlo Cart Bonus Stage that's accessible after cumulating 25,120 damage total with the train interactable in Laborratory Stage
I would do this too...if there was a cap on move speed (say 200%). Otherwise it gets to be such a damn nuisance, since it can easily escalate to clearing 1/2 a screen from a split-second tap of the key. The novelty of speeding around like a bat out of hell wears off very quickly.
And option to make individual weapon attacks be more transparent etc.
All of the SaGa characters have a critical health mechanic that lets them go crazy (Showstopper), and it synergizes with Crystal Cries since it triggers an orologian at crit health while dropping special pickups that heal and boost max health+recovery+growth when you kill frozen enemies.
Ideally you should trigger Crystal Cries, kill a bunch of enemies and scoop up enough pickups to be back to full health which resets both Showstopper and Crystal Cries.
Just do this enough until you get to a comfortable level of survivability without needing to rely on it, though it can still be used basically any time you almost die. Just make sure to grab enough pickups to get your health back to max.
