Focus on retalitation damage and maximising health
Divine Bloodline and Wandering the Jet Black arcanas. Pako Familiar, Iron Shield, Eskizzibur, Night Sword
Maruto Cuts is a long time favorite of mine from Tides of the Foscari
Megalo Syuutu from Moonspell is another.
I dont know how much you have unlocked from Ode to Castlevania. But Blue Crescent Cornell is an unkillable powerhouse that plays well with retalitation damage.
But ive managed over 200.000 kills within 30m that technically is 15m with hurry.

Knockback and healing is your friend until you really settle into the groove of the game. Garlic/Bible is a decent pairing. As more weapons became avaliable I would start to take pairs of weapons that used the same passive to evolve so I could take something like Crown, or other passives I wouldn't otherwise take.
And, though it seems counterproductive. . .don't sleep on the Curse powerful. Extra mobs on screen mean more exp. I've actually found playing on hurry without max curse to be. . .challenging because there just isn't EXP on the field to levels things fast enough. It DOES mean playing it a little safer with weapon choices though. . .(word of advice, don't try Knife/Curvedknife/Shurken'Discus and other pointy objects. . .I'm sure someone can do it, it isn't me).
What map you play also can effect weapon choice. Some maps have a more constricted space than others.
at the end of the day, don't be afraid to mess around and have fun. Hurry runs are quick, and if you can its not going to last, you can always duck out.
Something you can do is for example limit your inventory to 2 or 3 weapons (in the bottom left corner in the character select), so that you've an easier time getting the stuff you need. Though keep in mind that this is utilized best when you've already unlocked most relics/features, most notably the limit break one, so that you can keep getting stronger even after having build everything.
