how do you get to lvl 80 with inverse?

I've tried three different builds for it and I just don't gain levels fast enough when the enemies are refusing to die like this

I'll assume that you've already unlocked most if not all of the arcana, try the immortal Arca build:
Arca
2 max weapons
Start with Cooldown Arcana
Get 1 level and reroll until you get laurel
Buy another arcana from merchant, get Game Killer, no more level ups
Survive and get chests, after laurel and ring get to max or near max, go pick another ground item.
Once cooldown hits -100%, you've won.

Try turning off curse/charm in your upgrades menu, if you haven't already. Once an upgrade is filled out, you can disable it. Alternatively, just refund the money and don't spend anything in that slot.

I find the Inlaid Library to be the easiest, but YMMV. I the arcana that gives weapons 3 additional bounces and start with the character magic missile, Imelda. She has an XP boost built in. At the start, focus on getting fire wand and cross, as that combination creates a lot of constant damage, especially when coupled with the cooldown reduction tome.

Beyond that, going with Holy Bible and Lighting Ring (along with their respective upgrades) creates a solid combination that should carry you through quite powerfully. Don't try and kill the Red Death thing at the end, either... just focus on leveling up.

Sit and watch. You'll get level 80 by the 16 minutes mark (on hurry mode)

This was almost a garbage build, I was able to JUST hit level 80 as soon as I died, so technically this build can work but not if you just stand around.

minnah with sarabande of healing is mostly unkillable, her parameters fluctuate every minute but start off with high damage so she can mow down hordes of inverse enemies at the beginning and get over the early leveling hurdles fast, you don't even need eggs

The Werewolf Minnah with the Bloody Tear and a defensive build have been my goto for the inverse maps. Also no eggs needed.

Edit: Je-ne-viv from Abyss Foscari is my new favorite, does ridiculous amounts of damage and even more difficult to kill. Finished off inverse capella magna with ease, and loaded with curse.

Just tested Pugnalla with no eggs enabled; not the best build but its something.
Stage - Gallo Tower Inverse
Start with Gemini Arcana II, then go to merchant buy 2nd Arcana Jail of Crystal.
3rd Arcana will either be Mad Groove VIII or Out of Bounds.
Weapons
Phiera Der Tuphello + Eight the Sparrow (you start with these)
Peachone + Ebony (Make use of Gemini Arcana)
Laurel
Clock lancet
Whatever you want or Runetracer
Whatever you want
Items
Tome (Must)
Crown (Must)
Tiragisu (required)
Duplicator (recommended)
Armor (for runetracer)
Magnet (Optional)

level guns to 2-3 before selecting the birds. Try for the Tome or Crown, you will have leeway before minute 5, if your rolls aren't so good.

If all goes smoothly you should hit lvl 80 between minutes 12-19, do not stress if you haven't reached 80 by then.

**Notes**
All power ups enabled and maxed except curse.
Items sealed in collection are;
Whip, Magic Wand, Dagger, Axe, Cross, Holy Bible, Garlic, Gatti Amari, Shadow Pinion, Bone, Cherry Bomb, Carréllo, Celestial Dusting, La Robba, Bracelet, Silver Wind, Mille Bolle Blu.

Did a run of Abyss Foscari inversed with absolutely every store upgrade active, as well taking all curse items, Je-ne-viv is only in danger of dying early on to Atlanteans, but once having crimson cloak, they become negligible

just ran minnah through inverse dairy plant as a test with full charm and curse, only took non dlc weapons (garlic runetracer water, didn't have a plan just grabbed whatever), evo'd her whip, decided what the hell and went for a death kill so i got laurel and clock lancet and even more curse from the other crap and she still obliterated everything with no eggs and didn't get close to dying

it's even funnier when you take divine bloodline and eskizzibur/legionnaire along with it

Maruto Cuts may just be the most unkillable character, even beyond Je-Ne-Viv. Just need Divine Bloodline, his weapon and building up Armor. Did moonspell inverse with everything enabled and checked and simply breezed through it.

Just did 5 tests with Tides of Foscari DLC character Sammi on Map Lake Foscari. Lvl 80+ in under 1min. No Eggs Enabled. All powerups enabled and maxed with 1 Weapon only.

Starting the level - First Arcana is Disco of Gold XV (if you want to continue the run past 5min pick Sarabande of Healing for 2nd Arcana)
If you have 0 eggs, move a little until Vicious Hunger kills something and you level up. Once you start leveling you can now just stay still and then its gg.
**Notes**
I have not tested on other maps, so spawn count may differ on whether or not you reach lvl 80+ within a minute, but that wont matter too much as you will atleast hit that within 2 minutes guaranteed.
