Reapers won't die?@35 min in library with Pugnalla
My first time trying a 1 weapon build with limit break. Went full offence and expected to die at the end... but the reapers cannot reach me! Chose arcana for 1 weapon slot and duplicate. Currently at 468% might and Phieraggi is at lvl 223 and covering the entire screen. Reapers get pushed back when caught in a bullet stream and barely move forward when only in the beams... but they won't die. I've killed them several times with various characters and ended the lvl with the grey reaper. Whats happening?

When the red reaper first spawns, it has 655,350 multiplied by your current level in HP. So at level 223 that means it has 146 million 143 thousand and 50 hp.

The previous times you killed it and the white reaper spawned afterwards means you used either (or both) the Infinite Corridor and/or the Crimson Shroud items, which are designed to be reaper killers as they do % damage instead of numeric damage (afaik the % damage is based off their max hp, not their current, so you're able to kill reapers relatively quickly with them as a result).

Without using those two items, you have to actually do that much damage to them, which takes a very long time.

I see. Thank you. I think I used the shroud each time prior.

Not sure what Shroud does, but as I recall, Corridor actually halves the target's current HP. So it does do less "damage" each time, but it doesn't take many hits before repeatedly halving something's HP brings them down to a level where your other weapons (Or the damage from Out of Bounds) can easily finish the job.

Yes.

Infinite Corridor halves the HP of everything on the screen.

Crimson Shroud does retaliation damage based on the damage it prevents, and against the Reaper it also does an additional 1% of it's max HP each time it does retaliation damage.
