He's functional. You can still throw fireworks, victory sword and some garlic on him and he will work, like any other character. Maybe take wings too because he's slow af by default.
At least he's not oni-baba or what's her name was.

All of them are fine, they just fit different styles/niches. I don't enjoy some of them but that doesn't mean they're bad per se.

Is oni-baba that bad? I've only started the DLC characters, and after the cakewalk with Miang, Menya stumped me for a few runs.

Oni-baba is broken. Give her wings and penta, and that's it, you just constantly wipe out screens. In fact, I even screwed myself over with this a bit since I stopped leveling due to erasing everything, but it didnt really matter since I basically won already at that point, just dont pick penta first. Many different weapons work really well with her, like duration based weapons that have high cooldown by default (unevolved bible for example), you just need to select and try different combos.

yeah, literally got oni-baba not 20 minutes ago, and when I got penta I knew I just had to get wings. You can even use the alt+tab while walking bug to AFK through the game.
