Out-of-bounds area in the new map
As the title says, I stumbled upon an out-of-bounds area in the upper left corner of the new map. If you walk straight up through an archway up there, you can keep going past the boundary line on the mini-map. The path leads to a dojo-like building, which makes a great battle arena, lol. Not sure if there's anything more to it than that, but it was a fun little place to grind out the last 5 minutes of the run.

I'm really digging the new map in general, especially the unique monster spawns in different locations. The oni cave center-north (which is pretty brutal if you go inside too early), the tanuki forest in the bottom left corner, winding pathways and tight hallways in the larger buildings, all good stuff. I especially like that the giant skeletons guarding all the stage items drop an extra chest when you kill them, which usually sets you up to instantly evolve a weapon paired with the secondary item they were guarding.

Of course, as fun as exploring the map and fighting your way to all the stage items is... grabbing Mad Groove at minute 11 is wonderfully busted, lol. It's hard to resist the urge to cheese it. Spend the first 10 minutes grabbing universally useful secondary items (empty tome, exp crown, torrona's box [banished after level 8 for ease / maximum cheese]), whatever you need for weapon evolves that the stage doesn't give you, then get all the stage items in one fell swoop.

Has anyone found any other hidden nooks or crannies? (or interesting easter-eggs)

Huh, so... I just tried to go back, for old times sake, and got stopped by wall to face.

The first time I was playing with Menya, so I'm guessing the extra movement speed from his Megalo form let me clip through the wall? I need to try again and make sure I'm not crazy, lol.

Mystery solved. I tried again with perma-Megalo Menya, but that didn't work. (It felt like I almost got him to clip through at one point, but then nothing)

So, I loaded in with my egg'ed-up Trouser and clipped through all the damn terrain, thank you very much. Going out of bounds (up, down, left, or right) rolls into another copy of the map. What I stumbled into the first time was just the building in the bottom left of the map.

Still not sure how I managed to clip through with a non-egg'ed character, though. Maybe the initial speed boost from normal-Menya going sicko-mode timed perfectly did the trick? Doesn't really matter, though, lol.

Its the magnet rating going too high that breaks clipping.

Found a nice area south-west of the frozen lake (at the attractor upgrade). Theres a winding path of stairs leading to it from the south, but theres a forest grove area thats concealed to the west of it. It seems to spawn ents and plants, idk hard to tell what anything is in endless late game but I was getting much more red gem drops than anywhere else. And no it wasn't the final wave's red gems, the difference was night and day after leaving the area. So far looks to be the best grinding spot, I'll have to see how tough they are early on.

Ahhhh, cool. I assumed it was move-speed, but I never really looked into it. Hard to tell when you usually see it on an egg-stuffed character who's got "too damn high" in all categories, lol.

Heck yeah, that's a great little garden spot to harvest red gems. I should try farming there for the majority of a game and see how big a difference it makes.
