Syuuto strategy
Just trying out the new dlc and unlocked the character Syuuto, as far as i can tell they are just pretty awful, with a weak starting weapon and abysmal speed (and not very much health to balance it out). And I'm struggling to make it more than 5 minutes with him. This is the first character I've genuinely just not got right away how you are supposed to play. Any tips, I've tried rushing wings for mobility and not getting ganked by literally everything but his damage is just so low it doesn't change much. :(

Definitely pop rerolls until you get a weapon you're comfortable having 50% extra curse with. The weapon also gets much better the more projectiles it gets along the way.

Syuuto is actually super busted. The trick is that his main weapon isn't great - but he has a hidden Night Sword that counts as retaliatory damage. Take Divine Bloodline as your first Arcana, and grab Armor and Pummarola as soon as possible, then stand still. You'll be doing enough damage to oneshot enemies, and farming max HP on top of that.

Once you've evolved your main weapon, you can take Silent Old Sanctuary because your Night Sword is hidden and doesn't count as a weapon, so now you have a full-screen nuke that does tons of damage AND a huge max HP count.

idk about retaliatory damage in general, involves you getting hit. Getting hit means taking damage, and I like to not take damage if it can be helped. Besides, he's inherently locked out of ever taking stone mask unless you build into HP regen as well. Muramasa suuucks.

I think Syuuto's starting weapon is my new favorite, actually. Starts off weak as hell and akward to use, but once you evolve it you have a screen-clear popping every few seconds. Easy evolution too, you almost always want to take Duplicator anyway.

You can't actually get levels in the hidden Night Sword, so Stone Mask is in fact still on the table.

Also, y'know, I already use a seal on Sole Solution because of how it hurts as much as it helps so another evolution to tell "go away" isn't a huge deal.

I have evolved the hidden night sword after getting stone mask. Made sure not to pick up the one in the map. It can certainly happen.

Unsubscribing from this thread because I have managed to work out how to better play the character despite the general unhelpfulness of most of these comments and am a bit sick of the patronising non answers as above.
