Note any other hero that starts with an OPed weapon work it just imo that these two are the best.
The reason to go early is there is less mobs around for the skelly ball boss to eat for bonus hp.
The other option is treat the guy like Red death and go massive fire power. IE Infinite Corridor.
He gets bigger when he consumes the surrounding enemies, so that's why you want to be a strong with AOE dmg.
Birds + garlic + whip + cherry bomb is the combo I used.
The crab is the 25 minute boss and the barrier is caused by a unique enemy that goes after you beat the crab.
Pick a character with a high movespeed.
As for the skeleton ball, it absorbs enemies, so get a really strong AOE build, maybe even infinite corridor, before engaging it, and you should kill enemies before it absorbs them.
There are a couple things you can do to make the stage's chicken ban easier to deal with.
