Candelabrador?
"Augments area of attacks by X%" Does that mean it increases my area dmg?

Area is size, which effectively increases damage. but it is not a direct damage upgrade. if you get something like garlic and then you get the candelabrador you can see the damage stay the same but the size of the area get bigger.

In a sense Candelabrador still "increases" Garlic damage (and other AOE weapon like Santa Water). Since your damage's area is bigger, ennemies will walk through it for a longer period of time, meaning you'll get more ticks of damage on them, thus increasing your overall DPS. While it might not be a real game changer for a low damage output item like Garlic, it can drastically increase Santa Water's DPS (with half the map being covered by level 8 Santa Water's AOE on the Library for example).
For the other type of weapons like the Axe, Knife, Cross etc (projectiles), Candelabrador seems to enlarge your projectile (pun intended), thus making it hit more ennemies at once, so a bit more DPS overall too.

Also in case you didn't already know, leveling your Axe to level 8 and having at least level 1 Candelabrador makes your next chest opening drop an evolved weapon, being the Death Spiral, which is one of the best evolved weapon in the game atm.
