Not totally random, he DOES spawn if you camp out (stay in one spot) for too long, so it would be best if you keep moving. Moreso with Dommario as he's too slow.
It could have a summon condition for the player to avoid, but it doesn't.
It could have a resolution condition for the player to accomplish, but it doesn't.
All it really manages to do is be a chore. It's tedious, not engaging.
He can even spawn at 0:00 unless they fix it.
Basically every 1 minute he has a chance to spawn then stay until a new wave. There are rare cases he stays for another wave too but it's rare.
must say it spooked me when i was crossing the map for items
it spawned in me and wasn't standing still for more than 10 seconds
I have some info to share on the Green Reaper - he is kill-able with the stage item (cart on tracks).
so last night I had a run and he popped up however as I was running around he 'randomly' died and dropped a chest - now I was perplexed and gave it a bit of thought as to what happened - I didn't have pentagram, I didn't pickup a rosary....then it clicked that I did hear the sfx of the cart being hit.
luckily for me (or unlucky?) he showed up again another 5 mins later so I could experiment - so I lured him onto the tracks and sure enough, once the cart made contact he died.
so have fun :D
