You can make the fight go a lot faster by leaving EXP on the ground and leaving prismatic missile on the ground , after the fight starts and all your stuff gets banished go grab the prismatic missile , more should start dropping during the fight to let you level it up , also grab all the EXP you left on the ground to level yourself up.
Je Ne Viv will be scaled to whatever level you were when the fight started so leaving the EXP on the ground has the added effect of making the fight easier and making yourself stronger.
I did the same thing my first time because I was exploring the new stage so of course I grabbed everything and over leveled.
I think they designed it around what they thought the "average player" would do , grab a few items , hit level 40 or so and then accidentally bump into the boss.
At that level it's probably a tough but fair fight but I think by that stage a lot of players are experienced enough that they would see the boss and retreat to farm levels and items before fighting , which backfires on you , maybe even intentionally since the dev is a bit of a joker.
It's somewhat scripted actually. You can do whatever you want as long as you reach the boss as Eleanor and get her evolved weapon.
The key is to NOT pick up the prismatic BEFORE the boss starts. This means, don't grab it earlier, or else you will softlock during the boss.
During the boss I believe it spawns the weapon for you multiple times until you cap it out, so that eventually you can evolve it, at that time when you have evolved it into Luminaire then you win the boss fight.
I did it today and for some reason I had several levels queued from before the boss started, after the boss battle began I was able to like instantly max out and then touch a chest and evolve, killing it in like honestly a few seconds. Don't think it was intended to be done that way but whatever.
