unlocking the ferryman

watched a YT guide, evolved sonic dash and wings into rapidus fio, tried walking on the water by the castle entrance and don't seem to have the ability. the guide had hyper and hurry on and i didn't if that's important. tried three times once i sped up and got into the water but i have no idea what triggered it. tried 2 more runs w/ zero success.

It's kind of a matter of having such high speed the collision detection gives up.

I did it by breaking the collision detection on some random run. I would assume one of the flying characters (Carmilla, Alamaric Sniper, Malphas) could do it trivially, but maybe Rapidus Flo is required just in case. I think it actually pops on the land behind the water.

i was using Nathan perhaps, since he had the sonic as his main. i'll try him and hyper/hurry tomorrow am. plan B will be use my fastest character, thanks for the info!

used Nathan, used hyper and hurry, evolved the sonic dash. hitting the $$$ finger seemed to trigger the evolved dash, got the Ferryman, problem solved, thanks

You just gotta get Rapidus Flo on someone and then move in a straight line near the drawbridge until the shield pops and your dude starts dashing. For a few seconds it'll let you ignore collision for some stuff and you'll be able to hit the water.

When dashing through the water, you'll know that you unlocked the Ferryman, when the character unlock sound plays (that same sound that plays when you open up a coffin).

There's 2 water channels in the room the boots are in that walk over without the wall glitch and walking over one of them during the dash effect does it just fine.
I know because I crossed those and died and still unlocked the Ferryman.
