And different in what way? That's obviously impossible to answer without knowing, what you expect from this genre.
Which is funny because Vampire Survivors is also on mobile for the extremely high price of zero dollars with ads only being there if you want a free revive.
Also the game is five bucks and Steam will let you refund it before two hours in game or a week has passed
edit: oh and we are not joking. This game started the trend and for all intent and purpose invented the genre you are referencing. It is still the undisputed king by a wide WIDE margin. I've only seen a handful of titles that take the formula and do something interesting enough with it to be note worthy. Most are just bad by comparison. So no, you have not "played similar games." You have instead played poor copies of this that then had mobile game feces smeared on them.
it's like he was born yesterday, so cute! ♥
I would argue, honestly, its main points over its competitors is that it has so much content at this point, even without DLCs, that it's much more simple and straightforward than most, and also that it hits the slot machine feel of lots of bright colours and satisfying noises and shiny ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ happening constantly. I feel a lot of Survivors-style games miss that last one particularly hard, and usually make things more serious and bland.
More than once, VS has shown me things I felt were actually epic and stirred up some emotions in my chest, despite being a silly goofy game full of italian puns. People think it's just a "number gets big" genre but this game is so much more than that.
Seems they completely replaced the soundtrack. It went from outright annoying to amazing.
In my opinion, both of those things have now become the least appealing aspects of Vampire Survivors. Though I can appreciate the first one. Unfortunately, the second one becomes a visibility problem eventually.
Glad it was able to hit for you, but it was never that deep for me. Certainly fun though!
