Sounds like they'd just be massively weaker than the normal character AND doesn't even fit since weapons like Dante's hat in 5, Summoned Swords, Summoned weird spinny swords (nero dt) and V all work independant of other actions

clearly those weapons should be A LOT more powerful on the original characters in order to compensate

I'm all for it, I think it would be rad. You've got multiple playable characters (Dante, Vergil, Nero, V, Lady, Trish, Sparda, etc), a whole rogues' gallery of villains (Argosax, Arkham, Jester, a ton of demon bosses), a ton of unlockable weapons (all the firearms/Devil Arms from across the series), and the same kill-a-bajillion-enemies vibe. The DMC stage could have little sub-areas themed after each of the mainline DMC installments, with one or two bosses from the game.

Bonus points if, when you play a DMC character, the Gold Finger rankings are reskinned as DMC style rankings (Brutal, Alright, Sweet!, SShowtime!!).
