Why advertise OTC as 20 new characters?

To be fair, it is hard to top the "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH" moments as I unlocked more and more secrets in this DLC. If they were there from the start, would it have been as impactful as those moments?

Let's be real. This game mostly sells itself. They might as well have fun surprising all of the players.

Did nobody watch the trailer? They said "Everyone is here" and showed a bunch of characters that weren't part of the 20 characters shown on the store page.

Fun fact, I redid that boss fight to unlock one character. My sound was muted in game but still was automatically reactivated for the boss fight. Very cool

I noticed that, but when they weren't on the character screen I assumed they may be bosses, or unlockable costumes, or just in as sprites for standard enemies, or any number of other ways they could be in other than full playable characters. Did not expect all that.

Plus, probably a lot of people just didn't watch the trailer? Or didn't watch it that closely? Or, just aren't a big Castlevania nerds, and so didn't really know who they were looking at enough to go "hey, hang on, where are X and Y?" when they got into the game.

Exactly this! I was satisfied with my time with the DLC, had my fun for the money, was expecting some cleanup post-game stuff for the remaining unlocks and then, BAM, they hit you with so much stuff.

Said it before, and I'll say it again; the Vampire Survivors devs are super generous, and I appreciate it.
