is it possible to get the new passives in normal gameplay?
i've only ever been able to get them through arma dio. do they show up in the normal pool or do i need to do something to trigger their appearance, like with other DLC passives? or do they even show up at all?

Depends on the passives. For the forest dlc, you don't need the passive to evolve the first weapons of said dlc. For the Among Us one you need the corresponding weapon before the needed tiny crewmate appears in the pool. The weapon case also only appears in the pool once you have a Contra weapon. Once obtained, the new passive of the Castlevania dlc has a very small chance to appear in the pool, with a slightly increased chance if you have a weapon that evolves with it, still very low though so arma dio is the way to go.

It's not possible as far as I understand, read the announcement for the DLC release: new passives weren't planned for release for some time, but devs decided to tie some DLC evos to them so they added a way to get them.

The patchnotes mention some 'Special means'. So maybe via the secret input. Hard to say.

As said, they were apparently just going to be tied to new base game content in the future, still seems to be.
But they're on the CV map physically to enable those evolutions (Karoma's Mana will appear after certain progression), and the map has several Arma Dios. So in so far as the CV map goes, easy to acquire.

Both of the new passives appears in Arma Dio.

thanks for this! it's pretty ass that i'm stuck having to use arma dio if i want to evolve any of the weapons that use parm aegis or karoma's mana outside of the CV map but WHATEVER. i'll live. hopefully they fix the appearance rate at some point so it's more feasible to use things like silver revolver

Is there even a non-Arma Dio way to obtain Karoma's Mana in the Castlevania map? It feels like I looked everywhere... is it a secret area?

There is actually one on the map. In the top floor of chapel tower beyond the clock tower.

Oh wow. Thanks for the fast reply.

There's an area to the right of the clock tower? I thought the map ended there. Is it a secret entrance?

You can see much of the expanded map here once Richter had his showdown with Dracula.
https://imgur.com/a/2t6pw4u The Karoma is in far upper right, partially behind the red skull.

Ah. That explains it. Yeah, I'm still at what I thought was the halfway point, just unlocked Yoko and was testing the combinations to evolve the magic tomes currently. (Didn't really wanna look them up, but it's kinda getting to my nerves atm lmao) Thought I'd go for Karoma's Mana next, but if that's the case then I'll hold off on grabbing it from Arma Dio.

The silver pistol and optic shot requires Karoma for evolution. Not used for anything else.

Optic Shot... ♥♥♥♥ damn boy, even ALBUS is in this?? Thanks for the heads up though. I guess I'll just keep mixing up the books with the base game passives till I find out. Did figure out Ice Fang's a few days ago, at least.
