What specifically is the requirement?
Because I've gone on 2 Discus solo runs, which sucked btw, including the 2nd one in Endless so I could repeat the early spawns with 700% Might+Area since they stop spawning by ~15min.
And I'm up to 150k kills of Axe Armors, I've camped these things pretty sufficiently even accounting for other runs since those rooms suck and I avoid them usually.
And still no unlock.
So Axe Armor is not as the spoiler tags describe.
Agony is unlockis by killing 8000 enemies as Barlowe
It took me a couple of tries too, doing exactly what you're describing.
The secret technique: in the chapel area to the far right of the map (once you've unlocked the whole map), there's a special chamber in the middle left of the area, it looks like a brown box on the map. Once you're inside, the only enemy that spawns is Axe Armors. My guess is this area was designed specifically with that secret in mind.
I did a solo evolved Discus run there with Megalo Dracula, and that finally did it.
I'll keep that area in mind then, thanks.
After this, the only one I have left is Count Orlok. Saved the classic Nosferatu for last out of respect.
My fault. Didn't see where you said that you evolved it.
Either way, I got the tip I needed to get over the hurdle of just finding these things with consistent spawns.
It should unlock as soon as you have evolved each of the eight "magic weapons" from the DLC, at least once (across multiple runs).
Magic weapons for reference:
Alucart Sworb, Tyrfing, Alucard Spear, Trident, Mace, Star Flail, Iron Shield, Guardian's Targe
it's chaos. you know. the final boss of aria of sorrow. which you get when you have gotten absolutely every other hidden character the dlc added. i used codes from a reddit to fast track. jesus. christ. this thing is enough to justify the epilepsy warning alone.
Struggling with some of these descriptions. I'm grateful for them (!), but things aren't unlocking. Maybe someone can help, thanks in advance:
1. Unlocking Brauner: I choose that Arcana card, and only choose weapons that are buffed by that card (played as Librarian). Went to the room to the left of the doppleganger, fought the paintings at 20-some minutes. Finished the run. No unlock was available.
2. Celia unlock: had both light and dark glyph maxed, exited level (played as Sigma). No unlock available.
