There are only two things you keep from Adventures. You get a fixed amount of gold in the main game for completing the entire thing (not the gold you earned). You then can Ascend the adventure to earn 1 point to spend toward a 25% boost to xp, gold income rate, luck, or curse on future Adventure runs. All other progress resets so you can have a fresh start, so even the characters, weapons, and such that you unlocked before in Adventure mode will need to be unlocked again when you ascend.
Because adventures are meant to be little challenges of your wits, basically to complete the adventure you have to play with the hand that you got, sometimes, in one adventure, there is your favourite character so you pick that one, other times you have to improvise
If you unlock, lets say, Mt Moonspell adventure characters and weapons, they will be unlocked on main game too if you didn't got them yet.
